An absolute must have for my sweet itch mare. It helps keep her from itching through the summer. It also helps keep all my horses dry and comfy in the winter with blanketing. Have used it on a mare who had a large healing gash on her shoulder that was in a very itchy state of healing, it gave her instant relief. Used it between morning and afternoon sessions at clinics and horse shows. I dont leave home without it.

Not really sure if this works or not. Do I apply this daily? Or just when they itch? Not easy to apply to places like the tail where I have to pour into my hand and then apply. One of my horses is black so this really shows up, my sorrel horse not as much. I will continue to use it with hopes that I will see evidence of reduced itching. But it does smell good.

Works as advertised

I recently moved from Utah to Missouri. I have never experienced rain rot on any of my horses. After surviving the hottest, sauna like summer of my life, I noticed both of my horses had little sores all over their legs and one of them had some on her back. So I had to Google what it was. Funny thing before I moved this product keep showing up in my news feed on Facebook, so I had read up on it a little bit. When inrealized that it was rain rot, I already knew how to treat it. I bought this and it came within a couple days. I had run to a local store and bought some special shampoo that helped a tiny bit. As soon as this arrived, I put it on my horses. I didnt touch it for a couple days. During this time we did experience more rain. Their legs and back still stayed covered with the paste. On the third day I scraped off some over the sores and they were all dried out and looked really good. I did apply it one more time. In the meanwhile I did get the powder that is part of this line, so I applied it to their upper bodies. They seem to stay dryer. I think it helped so much. I will definitely use the powder on a regular basis. I will probably use the paste as needed or when its really wet outside and in the grass. I dont want to be without it again. It works really well. Im grateful I had read so much about it prior to my move. Its a life saver for my fur babies.

Like many horses on the US East Coast, my guy developed a medium case of rain rot this fall. A couple of applications of Coat Defense stopped it, and regular applications have kept it from coming back. The only reason I knocked a star off for the scent is that my horse loves the peppermint smell and is sure there is something for him to eat in the canister--I have to be sure to have a consoling peppermint handy when I use this stuff :-)

My girl got rain rot from all this socal rain this year (ugh!) I washed her blanket and put powder on her hip underneath. It was cleared up in about 2 days and the hair grew back FAST! Completely healed in 1 days and hair regrew. This stuff is seriously amazing and will keep it in my tack room at all times and you should too! Like miracle stuff!

My horse has lots of skin issues and this powder works excellent I also have the paste for her fungus on her legs but the powder is the best

This product does everything the manufacturer promises. It relieves itching, cleans the hair and skin, repels insects. My horse liked it. Often I used this powder all over her instead of liquid spray to repel flies. It relieves sweet itch quickly in summer.
