> 24 hourMy reason for trying out Wordperfect Office was purely financial. I am sick and tired of Microsoft demanding yearly subscriptions for software that we used to be able to buy outright with a lifetime license. The last time I used wordperfect was nearly 2 decades ago and I hoped that the differences between the two would be minimal. As a home user who mostly uses email, word processing and the occasional desktop publishing software, this suite has everything I would need. However, Microsoft Office and Corel Wordperfect Office now have very significant differences and I have had a very hard time trying to transition to the software. Not all my microsoft files open easily and, when I am sent a word attachment in email, word perfect seems to lose the formatting details. There are many things to like about the software. The ability to see all your formatting code is great if you are working with a document and cant figure out why the formatting is doing weird things. All the tools you need are in the suite, the only issue is learning how to use them. So, a lot of learning to do and some annoyance when converting documents from other software, but a really good program nevertheless.

> 24 hourI have used wp for years; it is vastly superior to W. I ordered this to update from 7 and wanted a disk. Timely received, but laptop would not read disk; indicated error message referencing original disk. But it loaded fine on my desktop. So I am attributing the loading issue to laptop. Box was crushed and seal on disk broken when it arrived, but it loaded and registered. I questioned how many users are licensed, and answer returned was 3. My reading of the license agreement indicated 1. For whatever that is worth.

> 24 hourFor decades, in the word processing game, its been Word or WordPerfect. Where WordPerfect does everything in a utilitarian manner, Word does so in a stylized manner. For years, most people who chose WordPerfect did so for a few reasons: 1. Its cheaper 2. It enables more customization. For example, altering issues related to compatibility. 3. They worked in the legal profession. 4. They worked with long forms a lot. 5. They worked with a lot of old files. 6. They simply disliked Word. Word has always been and will likely always be the more streamlined, stylish word processing suite. In all the years Ive used WordPerfect, Ive never considered it stylish, but rather utilitarian. So, why buy WordPerfect over Word? 1. One time cost. Everything you need is included in WordPerfect. Yes, there will be new editions, but as long as your system is relatively current, youll be able to use a specific suite for many years, with no issues. On the other hand, Word has moved to a subscription model. So, over time, WordPerfect is going to be cheaper. 2. You need to alter documents to be compatible. Word can do this, but its easier to isolate the issue(s) on WordPerfect and make alterations. 3. Youre used to WordPerfect. Usually, people have a preference. If youre accustomed to WordPerfect, Word seems very out of place. 4. Youre a home user. If youre a home user, you dont have to worry with being in the ecosystem so to speak. As I mentioned above, its cheaper to own WordPerfect. Also, WordPerfect does nearly every meaningful thing that Word does, it just does it in a more simplified, less stylish manner. So, WordPerfect is perfect for home users. 5. If you simply dislike Word. Look, Im not going to post a review that goes on and on with the miniscule differences between the two programs. All that matters is the following: 1. WordPerfect is cheaper 2. WordPerfect can do everything Word can do. 3. Word is more stylish and easier to use(for beginners). 4. WordPerfect enables a little more customization of various aspects, like issues with compatibility and making alterations. 5. Word is far and away the most popular of the two and most anyone you deal with on a regular basis, will be on Word. In the end, I chose to review WordPerfect because I simply wanted both Word and and updated version of WordPerfect. I enjoy both and use both regularly. Both are wonderful programs. Choose WordPerfect if you want a cheaper option for the long-term. Choose Word if everyone around you uses Word, you dont mind a subscription, and you prefer a more stylized, easier processing suite to use. Recommended 4 stars Cheers!

> 24 hourWhat I need is word processor software, and what I dont want to do is to pay a monthly/yearly subscription for it, hence why I went with Wordperfect. It doesnt have all the features that MS Word does, and it is an adjustment format-wise to get used to everything, but it does every bit as well for word processing as MS Word and will save a lot of money over the span of several years. The only thing I really dont like about it is that it doesnt work with Grammarly, which I like to use when writing. Overall though, for the price, I think it is excellent software if you need a solid word processing.

> 24 hourThis suite cant be beat for word processing and formatting. Set up is quick and easy and it is straightforward to use. I am using it in my office where the emphasis is in document preparation and revision. This functions almost like a desktop publisher. However we do not do much group editing, an area where Word is better. Quatro pro, their spreadsheet program is on a par with Excel. Presentations works but it is not as impressive as Powerpoint. I tend to move between word, wordperfect and libre. For my purposes which emphasizes word processing, this program has the edge.

> 24 hourWhile many people I know have worked on and with MS Word for many years, I grew up using WordPerfect. My father was a government employee in the 90s and thats what they used on their first computers, and what we had on our very first home computer. So I learned WordPerfect as a teen and from that point on, I always purchased and used WordPerfect when I needed a word processing program. It just made sense to me and it was always easy for me to go back to and use. As the years went on there were times when I was required to use MS Word and using WordPerfect wasnt an option. I would tend to get frustrated because I never found MS Word as easy to use as WordPerfect and it seemed like MS Word was forever changing how they delivered their products (disk, subscription, online cloud). I missed the simplicity of the WordPerfect program Id always used. MS Word was always wanting to be integrated into the other software on the computer and had a lot of extra going on. But Ive always preferred the user friendly design of WordPerfect, and no subscriptions needed. I find it easy to navigate and it just works well for my needs. However if youre a student in college, be prepared to have most of your instructors require MS Word, especially now that they offer MS Word subscriptions free to college students.

> 24 hourWordPerfect Office Standard 2020 comes with a DVD for installation. I needed an Office Suite for my HP laptop. For the most part, I type simple documents. I have Microsoft Word on my other computers. I rarely open PowerPoint and Excel, but I will write a few words about their counterparts. Any documents created on Quattro Pro (excel) and Presentations (powerpoint) are transferrable to a Word document, once on Word the graphs, documents, you can continue working on them. Some of the content listed on the box, the extra clip-on images, eBook Publisher, and the photo editing, known as AfterShot, are add-ons. I haven’t located the eBook Publisher-customer service wasn’t able to help me. I did add on the photo editing, AfterShot sent me to a YouTube for instructions. I was impressed with sectional editing of images, certain objects or backgrounds and the history that remembers steps allowing you to backtrack to a specific procedure without starting over. There are plenty of tutorials included for the different programs. Most of the programs are comparable to Microsoft Word. The Pocket Oxford English Dictionary is included. My test word is ‘barmbrack’ which the dictionary did not have. For twenty-five dollars the Oxford Concise Dictionary is offered as an upgrade. Rather than chance that barmbrack isn’t in the Concise Dictionary, I can go online or ask my phone for definitions for words not listed in the Pocket OED. Without being a user of several of the programs offered, I can’t comparatively say what distinguishes this from other Office Suites.
