i had a SSD drive fitted to my pc as the (c) drive some 5 years ago at a lot more expense than this. it is surprising at the speed of startup/shutdown as well as opening of files. i wanted to speed up this laptop, but i took the option of quadrupling the ram from 2>8 gb at the highest speed suitable for the motherboard. i didnt actually get the result than i wanted.in the meantime, the price of SSDs where greatly reduced. so now i have an SSD in my laptop also. running win 10 pro on both machines. for the price of these drives now, it is by far the cheapest way to speed up your laptop/pc rather than ditching it for a more powerful one. always been a good product, now at a realistic price.

I love how swiftly this works! I use it as a secondary drive in my desktop, and it is wonderful to be able to run one or two programs on it and use it as fast storage.
