> 24 hourI bought this Crucial MX500 for several reasons. First was the fact that Microsoft is ending support for my beloved Windows 7 next month and I wanted a clean install of Windows 10 rather than an upgrade. This drive is intended to house the OS and more demanding software while using my existing 1 terabyte (former Windows 7 OS and all software and storage) drive for solely storage. Second was the price point. For only slightly more than a new mechanical drive I could use solid state which is more resistant to physical damage and has no moving parts. Third was the reported improvement in boot time and program access time. This is the part I underestimated. I built this PC before the advent of SATA III, so I knew Id never see the 6 Gbit/s transfer rate the drive is capable of while using this motherboard. SATA III is twice as fast as the SATA II I would be stuck with. I completely underestimated the improvement the switch to a SSD would give me. Boot time from cold start to full operation seems 10x faster than using my WD 1 TB mechanical drive. I cant imagine 2x faster than even that if I were to change to a SATA III capable board. Comparatively, the life span of the SSD drive isnt much shorter than that of a mechanical drive (particularly when the drive will house only the OS and programs) and the Crucial software, which is downloadable from Crucials website keeps the drives firmware updated while alerting you if errors begin to show up and a replacement should be considered. I used the Crucial brand SSD because Samsung SSDs do not play well with AMD AM3+ motherboards SATA drivers. Needless to say, Im very happy with the Crucial MX500. Even if youre stuck with SATA II, its well worth installing.

> 24 hourI bought this 2TB SSD to upgrade my PS4 Pro storage from the original HDD. The process was straight forward by following the guide on the Playstation website and the actual swapping of the drives was a painless task. The total internal storage available is 1.77TB and there is a very noticeable difference in the speed of the drive. It boots up much quicker, the home menu is smoother and less laggy and the loading times on the games Im playing at the moment are a good 20 seconds quicker than before. Its a great value SSD with good performance and Im glad I made the upgrade.

> 24 hourThe drive was easy to install on the laptop. I used the provided housing and it worked perfect, I was able to clone my drive but I think the file system was not accurate and all programs did not work, I recommend you format the drive before cloning.
