> 3 dayThey have strategic compression the length of the sock, in the foot and firmer in the arch. They dont fall down or twist in the western boots making them very comfortable to wear and diminishing the pain of being on his feet for hours on end. So worth the cost too as their guaranteed for life. Your husband will thank you and hell be in a better mood when he gets home from work. I wore his socks and Im getting some for me too.

> 3 dayI was a dedicated Smartwool fan. But about 6 months ago I purchased 3 pair of these Darn Tough socks for a hiking trip in Nepal. My experience with Smartwool is that theyll last ONLY IF you wash them every two days. Well, that wasnt possible in Nepal. Anyway, these Darn Tough socks were great. And Id easily get 5 days wear without odor build-up. Most important, they showed absolutely no sign of wear after 2 months and about 10 washings. They really were tough! My Smartwools would have disintegrated under the same use. Im gonna go with Darn Tough from now on. The Smartwools do feel cushier when I first putm on. But, once on, both brands perform the same... except the Darn Toughs are much more durable and can handle abuse (straight wearing for day after day), while the Smartwools show degradation in the heel if you wear them more than two days. BTW, I only buy Darn Toughs boot heel style of sock. I havent tried their thinner socks.

> 3 dayOnly wore them once so far but after putting them through the wash they look brand new. They fit great and dont slide down to your ankle. I can definitely feel a difference in comfort and warmth of my feet while wearing these.

We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks.

After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We do it because for us, it’s the only way to do it. There are faster and cheaper alternatives but nobody ever outsourced anything for quality.
