I bought 3 pair a year ago....they held up great! So i came back for 3 more pairs! Great Socks!

Used mainly for hiking, the durability of these socks are even better than some synthetic ones (for example, some X-Socks have only last 15 days of hiking, whereas in same condition, the same Darn Tough pair is still in used). Each experience being personnal, here is my feedback after near one year of use them in different situation (every day life, sports, hikes any weather) : Pros : - comfortable (no blisters) - durable - good odor mitigation, not as best as true merinos, due to usage of polyamid to reinforce them, but far better than any synthetic socks on this topic. - can be used 3 seasons Cons : - dry slowly, but it is expected due to the material

Use the socks on a hike of glacier national park last week and they were outstanding!

Just the right cushion on this sock. Height is just right for wearing with shorts in the summer. Fits well: size Large meets my expectations and works well for me (size 11 shoe).

Was not expecting this to be one pair of socks. They seem to be good quality if you’re looking for one good pair of socks but not it all what I was expecting.

Great socks! I wear Darn Tough almost every day.

The size of these socks is really weird. My shoe size is men 9, so I bought the socks in medium (shoe size 8 - 9.5). The heel of the sock is way too high, not over my heel but about 3-4 inches higher, over my Achilles tendon area. This incorrect position of the socks heel leads to the sock bulging and being uncomfortable when the bulge rubs between my shoe and my skin. Also, the quality isnt worth the $18 price. I found several loose threads. This is something Id be okay with in a regular, cheap sock, but not at this price level. Overall, Ive owned a number of expensive hiking socks before, and these are the worst so far. Look elsewhere.

I’ve worn Smartwool no shows for over 25 years. I got these to wear with hiking boots. They are solid socks my only complaint would be they don’t seem to have much elasticity to them. They don’t stretch to fit your foot like other Merino wool products I’ve used, specifically Smartwool. I can’t sing their performance but they won’t be replacing my Smartwool socks for ever day wear.

MICRO CREW HEIGHT

The micro crew is a shorter, more concise take on the traditional crew height. Peeks just above the top of a standard hiking boot.

ULTIMATE COMFORT

No slipping, no bunching, and no blisters. The ultimate fiber for breathability and comfort in all conditions, the All Weather Performance means cool in the summer, warm in the winter.

CUSHION DENSITY

The Work collection primarily features midweight yarns due to their versatility in all environments and ultimate protection. The entire Work category features cushion underfoot while select styles use terry loops in the leg.

TRUE SEAMLESS

Undetectable seam fusion for an ultra smooth, invisible feel. Darn Tough uses high density knitting techniques, which means there are more stitches per inch. This leads to a more comfortable, durable, great fitting sock with no added bulk.

MATERIALS IN OUR SOCKS

Every material we use in our socks has been carefully chosen and tested to meet our rigorous durability standards. We currently use natural and synthetic fibers, and only 3 types of fiber per sock. As you’d expect, we are actively investigating and testing new fibers and yarn blends that do not appear in our current products. We’ve prioritized Merino wool throughout our product lines and our goal of producing the most responsibly made product is reflected in our commitment to the success of the Responsible Wool Standard.

SOCK CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks.

STILL MADE IN VERMONT, USA

After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We do it because for us, it’s the only way to do it. There are faster and cheaper alternatives but nobody ever outsourced anything for quality.

  • ONE FAMILY - We are family owned. For 40 years we’ve been knitting socks in the Green Mountains
  • ONE MISSION - Darn Tough is a family-owned, American manufacturer of end-use-specific socks.
  • ONE MILL - Every step of the knitting process happens right here, by us, locally, in Northfield, VT
