> 3 dayI bought this to automate the chicken coop door. It mounted easily, and after I connected it to the timer and relay DPDT switch, it works to open and close the door flawlessly. Its been working for only 3 weeks, and there has been little to no rain, so I dont know how it will hold up to weather, but it is reported to be useful for agriculture applications which by design would be outside. I will upload a photo and maybe report on how its doing after a winter has passed (if I remember to do it). I would buy this again.

17-11-2024This actuator stopped working after 2 weeks. I took it apart and poured a tablespoon of water out of the gear and motor housing. The listing says rated for outdoor use - HA! My suggestion is if you need an actuator that gets even partially exposed to the weather (like my application) #1 - dont buy this - #2 if you must, silicone every seam, joint and bolt hole. I get tired of the lies - the description for this product is inaccurate and vastly overstated. An IP65 rated enclosure gives protection against low pressure water jets from any direction, as well as condensation and water spray

> 3 dayUsed this actuator to control a pivot on a project. First, the actuator is extremely slow operating. Second, it snapped off the rear mounting ear (on the motor housing) on the first use. Its made from extremely cheap cast aluminum and the second it got tweaked, it snapped clean off. Not sure of the actual force limit of this item because the design failed before I could really test the force limits of the unit. Maybe I torqued the actuator across an axis I didnt think I was, but this shouldnt be a failure point given the rating of the actuator.

Greater than one weekThe casting at the attachment point is very thin pot metal and gave out at approximately 100 pounds of load. The Actuator literally pulled itself apart.
