Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 11 Student Edition [Old Version]

Hi, This is the first review Ive ever written but wanted to tell you what a great product this is. I purchased this product because I have health issues that make it difficult to type and almost didnt purchase this because of all the negative reviews. Many other reviewers noted that there was great difficulty geting the serial number needed to install the product. Well, I have a .edu email address. I received the program, went to the verification website, answered the questions, and was immediately verified. I waited about 30 minutes to check my email and there was the serial number. I installed the program, did the tutorial and training sections and was up and running. The first thing I did was to dictate class notes. The terminology was very technical and specific to this graduate class subject. Dragon got all the words, as long as I pronounced them right :), and I cant tell you what a relief it has been for me to be able to do course work without experiencing pain in my arms.

I tend to talk fast and mumble a bit and run my words together. Once, I got the hang of talking to Dragon, he and I seem to be on the same page most of the time. When, I am tired, well lets just say, Ive learned a few new words. As long as you speak clearly and at an even tone this program is great for typing in word and e-mail programs. Sucks in Excel, and takes over the +/- keys on my wireless numeric keypad. Corrections seem to take time, though some are relatively quick. I think that its me. There seem to be less mistakes every day.

It doesnt quiet pick up my voice. Great condition fast delivery. Thank you.

Nuance yes.... I got this originally to help take notes in lecture classes but it does not translate other people talking just you. That didnt work and you had to read a page or more for it to recognize your voice .... really that long... and its hard to delete from your system. Might work for some but not for me.

Unfortunately, all posted links to the education validation on the Nuance site are broken. What IS this mysterious process anyway? Are part-time graduate students eligible for the Premium 11 Student version? Thanks.

I have started using this product in the last half-hour and Im already using it to write the review. This software has quickly started recognizing my dictation. Activation was real simple provided you had a student e-mail account ending with a .edu. In my experience, it took me less than 5 min. to jump through the activation hoops. Others may have experienced problems because they did not have a EDU e-mail account. To my mind, this is a basic requirement that should be met. If someone does not have an EDU account it is very difficult to believe that he is a student. Student software then becomes a joke. The premium version of this software has been well reviewed by others on this site. I therefore do not have much to add to the review. Im enjoying using the software and I will report any problems if I should encounter any.

the verification process is absolutely ridiculous. Never before have I had such problems with getting a product I have purchased to run- it has literally been MONTHS of trying. Talking to a live person is not an option- it all goes through chat or email....very frustrating.

i have a question about this, my son is a student at highschool in nj, and i am a principal at a school in nj. my question is can we get the student teacher discounted price.

It is a lot better now but I still like this version and it still works! It is a lil difficult to train but if you got time it is great!
