I opened up the package and inserted the disc in my computer. Nothing happened. When I went to check the disk it said there was nothing on it. Not a happy camper. Could just be a bad disk. Ill look to getting the same thing at my local book store.

Just started using this last night and am excited to move into chapter 4! Lots of features to help self-starters like me to try our hand at something new! Very easy to follow even if the playing of the instrument itself takes more finesse (I know Im just learning!)1

I am a complete beginner and only just invested in a guitar, so I fit within the intended target group and there is indeed great help to find starting off with an intro to the different types of guitars, the terminology used (there is a glossary should you need to look it up later), strumming the guitar - and of course most importantly the different cords and a selection of songs - and it is interactive, so you can both see and hear how it is supposed to sound/look. There is even a variable speed option should you want to slow down or speed up a particular lesson.

Id never picked up a guitar before this CD course, but had always fancied giving it a go, but where to start? I borrowed my Dads guitar, put in this CD and I can hardly believe how easy it is to get started and keep learning. The videos and diagrams are great and the pacing is just right - you can genuinely start from scratch and be accompanying a song in minutes, but the lessons always keep pushing you to learn more and keep improving. Being able to follow your progress on the screen is much better than trying to learn from a book and getting lost.

My son has used this tutor as part of his learning for the guitar. It has been extremely successful in helping him learn. The DVD approaches the teaching in a very logical and clear manner. It has been good for him ( aged 13) and I look forward to using it myself in a year or so when I forty years after I planned to will start to play! I really think most people buying this very well priced product would be happy with it and have a good liklihood of gaining a strong basis for a guitar playing future. It is just so obvious that a video with such a visual way of demonstrating the skills is a far better way to approach this form of teaching than a book. The only thing is that a book may be needed as well as this format may not go into things in quite as much depth as a good book could. Dont hesitate , at this price its a snip!

I bought this for my husband for christmas. He is a very hands on and visual learner so I loved the idea of the videos; however this was more like a glorified book on the computer... the videos and the audio refused to work... I intend to return this and find somthing else that works... Very disapointed...
