Guitar for Dummies is a good place to start learning how to play. Its pretty straight forward in teaching chords and strumming techniques and I really enjoyed that it had the built in recorder, metronome and tuner. The only drawback is that with SOME lessons the teacher assumes you know certain things already. Ive never picked up a guitar in my life before buying this and now I can at least play along to simple songs. It was worth it for the price.

I ordered this because of an Amazon Deal of the Day. First disk arrived promptly but wouldnt work in either of two computers. I sent for a replacement and just got it today. Same story, second verse...it doesnt work either. I suspect there was a bad lot of CDs for some reason. I wouldnt buy this until Amazon can provide some reasonable assurance that theyve got disks that work.

We ordered this book for our son who has been using these lessons and accompanying PC content to help with his school guitar lessons. We have had a number of Dummies books over the years - some have proved helpful while others were dire, so we received this book with an open mind, hoping it would help our sons progress playing his guitar.

Id never picked up a guitar before this CD course, but had always fancied giving it a go, but where to start? I borrowed my Dads guitar, put in this CD and I can hardly believe how easy it is to get started and keep learning. The videos and diagrams are great and the pacing is just right - you can genuinely start from scratch and be accompanying a song in minutes, but the lessons always keep pushing you to learn more and keep improving. Being able to follow your progress on the screen is much better than trying to learn from a book and getting lost.

Comprehensive guide on how to get started with an Acoustic piece. Dummy books have always been good for making information comprehensive and digestible, this is no exception.

Buyer beware - This is song based learning. If you want solid fundamentals then look elsewhere. It has many extra features that are helpful. Im taking lessons in addition to using this software. Its a good contrast and fun.

ATTENTION MAC USERS - Beginning with macOS 10.15 (Catalina), Apple has eliminated the option to run 32-bit apps on the Mac. If you wish to continue using our applications, which currently require 32-bit support, do not upgrade your operating system past Mac OS 10.14 (Mojave). Alternatively, you can retain an older Mac operating system on a separate drive partition. eMedia developers are currently working on software updates to support Catalina and future versions of macOS, but this is a major undertaking. eMedia is currently unable to foresee how long it will take to create these new versions. If you purchased your eMedia software on or after September 7, 2019, upon receiving proof of purchase eMedia Music will provide you with a free upgrade to a macOS 10.15 (Catalina)-compatible version of an eMedia application when it becomes available. All other registered owners of eMedia software will be qualified for discounted upgrades.
