> 3 dayI switched to this from my old 3000 Lumen 720p projector. I had expected a clarity improvement, but I was unsure about the drop down to 2900 Lumens since the 3000 wasnt great in a brighter environment that I sometimes have. Im pleased to say that I was blown away by the improvement in clarity and completely surprised by the brightness. I know the rating is 100 Lumens lower, but it seems significantly brighter than my old projector.

> 3 dayProjectors have to serve a lot of different needs. Some people need them to be used in a brightly sunlit room during the day. Others need them for 3d movies. Others need the projector for text and images. All of us probably want a great picture and large screen wow experience. I have a dedicated theater room that is painted with dark brown walls and ceiling and blackout curtains. It is like a movie theater. I do not have to worry about brightness of the projector. That gives me some tradeoffs with this projector. This projector is EXCELLENT for a bright room that needs extra lamp power to overcome the brightness. For me, that means I can run in ECO mode and the fan is reduced and the brightness is still very good - and my blacks are better too. This is a pretty good projector for a theater room setup. It is also pretty good for a sunlit room setup as well, but you will experience tradeoffs. By running in full brightness mode at an insane 2900 lumens, the projector can actually be functional in a bright room. The fan will run a good deal more, and it will be noisier to overcome this - but it is better than having a weak picture. The colors are bright and saturated and the image is CRISP and CLEAR. For those who care about the details, it is not a true 4k picture, but for practical purposes and to many people, it is so well done that it gives the performance of a 4k picture at a fraction of the cost. Right now, a true 4k projector is VERY EXPENSIVE. The Epson Home Cinema 3800 4K PRO-UHD 3-Chip Projector with HDR gives you the look and feel of a true 4k image without the obscene price of a true 4k projector. It is large too - in most installed setups, this should not matter. If you are carrying it around as a portable unit, this could matter. Overall, this is a great budget choice projector that can handle very bright room installations (think of a living room with windows that dont get completely dark or a classroom or court room or business conference room.) If you are a true aficionado of high end projectors, this may fall a slight bit under the top end projectors, but it also falls a good bit under the prices of those projectors. I have a lot of friends who have MUCH CHEAPER projectors than this, so it is a fairly upper-mid-range projector and you will absolutely appreciate the many extras and higher performance of this projector. It does 3D and it will absolutely handle a bright room - feature that a great many people need and wish for. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a GREAT PROJECTOR at a price point of around $1,500. I would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends and Epson is a great brand name and projectors are one of their EXCEPTIONAL product lines. One comment on that... Most companies are known for being really great at CERTAIN PRODUCTS. Epson is known for printer and another one of their excellent products is PROJECTORS. Right now, with the exit of Panasonic from the projector market, Epson is very possibly right there with Sony and maybe one other brand among the top-3 projector companies out there. You cannot go wrong with this projector in my opinion as long as you know the quirks and they dont affect your situation. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via my Amazon Profile and I will try to get back to you asap. I take great pride in trying to help others know which products are good and which ones to avoid. I feel like we can all help each other by doing a great job of letting others know our experience with the products we buy here on Amazon and I think it is very rewarding to know that I have helped someone choose the right product for their situation. Thank you so much for reading this review!

> 3 dayPicture was decent. It was pretty bright but I spent a week’s worth of time trying to get audio connected. I tried Bluetooth to my Visio sound bar/surround sound system and when that didn’t work I tried HDMI, I tried 3.5mm audio cables, I tried optical I tried adapters to all three of those audio options and still.....NO AUDIO! Through the process of elimination I determined that it was the projector itself that had to be the issue. I bought the same exact model directly from Best Buy and connected the audio through the Bluetooth in 2 seconds. The cheaper price from this 3rd party seller I believe is the problem... Best Buy explained that’s why they don’t price match with certain companies or sellers because it may look like the same model but it may not include one or two features and that how they sell it for less...makes sense after all the hassle I went through!

> 3 dayThe flexibility is excellent, the optical lens shifting, full corner pinning and large zoom range, making the projectors placement extremely flexible. I have been using it for outdoor movies this summer, projecting to a 145 screen with ease. The three chip LCD design means no rainbow artifacts -- I replaced a DLP projector, as even slight rainbowing detracts from my movie experience. The colors are good, but just a tad less saturated in the default configuration as compared with the BenQ DLP I replaced. Eight movies later, Ive very happen with this purchase.

> 3 dayThis is a 4K projector from Epson that is meant to play games, films, and sports/regular TV. Lets get right to it: [Setup] In general, easy and quick here. Its a turn on and go type of setup. However, if you want to get really in depth with the settings, it is *definitely* there should you want to. Were talking the ability to adjust *any* aspect of the picture (brightness, saturation, color, white balance, sharpness, etc etc). However, I played with the settings just a little (mostly to turn all the enhancements off) and found it just peachy. There are adjust picture controls inside the menu and on the projector. I was able to get the geometry to perfectly match up (at least to my eyes) to a rectangle. Lens shift details are: Vertical: -60.0% to +60.0% (H center) Horizontal: -24.0% to +24.0% (V center) Inputs are: 2x HDMI® 2.0 (18 Gbps) HDCP 2.2 1x USB Type A 2.0 A power supply (for streaming devices) 1x USB (for wireless accessory and firmware updates) 1x Mini USB (service only) 1x Audio out mini plug (3.5 mm) [Picture Quality] Its superb as far as projectors go. You dont really know what youre missing, until you see the difference. I can say that even with a $100 projector, that its clear enough to watch a movie. With a $500 projector, I can say its very clear -- and even looks quite good. With this 4k projector, it starts to change from yea, this is a good projector picture to competing, and succeeding your LED TV. The real strength here is with color and crispness. Its *better* than a digital cinema, for example. It rivals LED TVs (succeeds a lot of them in my opinion). However, as others have mentioned, the black levels are diluted and muggy. Eh, not much else to say with that -- but the black levels are mediocre. You wont notice it unless youre really looking, but its similar to a theatre experience. The 4K picture, though, with 4K content -- just, wow. I just cant get enthusiastic about going to the theatre anymore, due to the fact I have a better theatre experience in my own home (with the exception of not having other patrons me, mind you). The color gamut on this gets to 100%, whereas many TVs only go to 60% of the color output. The picture, needless to say, is superb. [Misc] Bluetooth audio -- yes, it works with bluetooth surround sound. Works very well. Lumens (very good for this price) at 2900. You can have even modest ambient light, and get a perfectly well formed, and rich picture. Aspect Ratio - Native: 16:9 widescreen (4:3 resize,16:10 resize); compatible with 4:3 with Normal, Full or Zoom Modes Supported Resolution - 3840 x 2160, Full HD 1080p/i, HD 720p, 576p/i, 480p/i Replacement lamp: 250 W UHE Lamp Life: ECO Mode: Up to 5,000 hours (~2500 movies) Medium Mode: Up to 4,000 hours (~2000 movies) High Mode: Up to 3,500 hours (~ 1750 movies) Max projection size: 300 Weight: ~15lb (on the heavy side, but not out of the ordinary. Its a big projector) [Closing] This is a 4k premium projector that has a lamp life that last a very long time, and gives you a picture that exceeds almost all projectors sub $1.5k Is it worth it to spend more? Absolutely -- if youre going for a true cinema replacement experience (and a full on gaming experience). Excellent 4k projector

> 3 dayWanted to start out with the unboxing, this is a solid unit in which you need a quality ceiling mount (Id recommend a professional if you arent that handy). Now this has your basic setup steps to go through as soon as you turn the unit on but I would recommend doing some research and reading on this unit as there is so much more advanced tweaking you can do. I made some presets and am able to change setting based on room brightness, screen aspect ratio, etc. You have a couple HDMI slots, USB plugs, Mini USB, Audio, etc so should be all you need to hook up any devices you need. The picture with 4k is so clear and crisp, the details just jump out at you and if you pay attention it is almost like you are looking our your window or outside it is just that real. My kids love it as it makes it seem like every night is a movie theater night and we no longer have a bulky tv setup to look at. Wanting to get a retractable screen for it to make our setup look a lot cleaner but currently just have a regular screen. Also, I hooked up with our wireless surround sound effortlessly, there was no sound delay and to me it was a hassle free experience. I have had other TV setups that were a lot more challenging but this was easy. Cant say enough good things about this unit, just really makes the family movie experience that much more delightful! Would highly recommend!

> 3 dayBought the refurbished model. Seems to be working so far. Great picture quality. Best in a very dark room. I have an apple tv 4K device installed on it as well as a vizio soundbar with wireless subwoofer and surround speakers. Also using a 100 inch screen. Great for movies and sports.
