> 3 dayI installed this on an older Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop. I tried to install Windows 7 and 10 neither operating system will install due to the lack of a driver.

> 3 dayI swapped my old hdd for this ssd. My PC boots up in 30 second compared to 2 minutes. For the low cost, the fact this is a fully working 1tb ssd is something Im amazed by. Would totally recommend.

> 3 dayPrice is good, but I would not recommend this for an iMac SSD swap. The macOS software doesn’t like it. It’s definitely faster, but it sometimes freezes up, and beach balls at random times. Even booting up the mac sometimes does strange things like the circle with line through it where the apple logo would be, and telling me to contact apple.support, but then boots normal afterwards. My clone was done through recovery mode/disk utility/restore.

> 3 dayPros: (1) I verified that the capacity really is 512GB by writing 512107741184 bytes (as monotonically increasing 64-bit chunks) to it while calculating a sha256 hash of the data, then reading it back from the drive. Same hash. If the drive was actually smaller but faking a 512GB capacity, the hash could not match. (2) The drive is much faster than the old 7200rpm SATA drive it replaced. (3) I was able to install Fedora 35 on it in a Dell E6410 laptop. (4) The laptop feels much faster and more responsive, well worth the $22. Cons: (1) The SATA connector does not make reliable contact in the laptop because the drive is thinner than the older 2.5 inch drive it replaced. The drive caddy has trouble holding it at the correct angle for reliable contact. A thin shim is required to build up the drive thickness to the original spec. (2) The warranty void if removed labels on the long edge of the drive make the drive too wide to slide into the Dell drive bay. The labels become scraped off along the edge where they fold over. The 2.5 inch drive dimensions spec does not permit labels on this edge. Hey Fanxiang? Put those labels elsewhere.

08-06-2025I needed a second drive to dual-boot my laptop into Windows 10 or 11. The laptop had an open drive bay so installation was a breeze . Boot is as quick or quicker than the original built-in drive and I now have triple the storage, or enough space to boot to Linux.
