Filtrete 16x20x1 Air Filter, MPR 1500, MERV 12, Healthy Living Ultra-Allergen 3-Month Pleated 1-Inch Air Filters, 6 Filters

I purchased the 16 x 24 x 1 air filters. The air filter itself might be the right size, but with all of the cardboard on the outside, it’s bigger and wouldn’t fit into my air conditioner and heating unit. I had to take the top of the cardboard off for it to for right. Just beware! Spent $40 on 2 filters and can’t even use them the way as intended.

As an allergy sufferer and I can tell the difference in air filters. These filters work! Do yourself a favor and buy these Filtrete A/C filters and you will see the difference they make in filtering away the allergens.

I couldnt be happier with my Filtrete MPR 1500 purchase! I received 2 premium Filtrete furnace filters for such an amazing price. By replacing our lesser quality filter with a Filtrete MPR 1500 filter, we immediately noticed an overall decrease in dust. There has also been a noticable difference in the air quality in our home. I definitely recommend these Filtrete MPR 1500 furnace filters!

These filters are avove average in two ways. One, the pleating is denser providing greater surface area to pull air through. They dont seem to clog as fast as competing filters and produce the whistling noises associated with return air filters struggling to provide enough CFM to the machine. Second, the filter media, mesh screen and cardboard frame seem more robust than similiar high MERV filters (say between MERV 10-12). I change filters every 3 months and they are typically clogged and delicate when I replace. These seem to be still adequately functioning and not straining the equipment.

Exactly what I wanted

These filters appear to be solid, with the wire protection on both sides. They capture what youd expect from their MPR rating, and do not seem to degrade the air pressure. I just wish they were individually wrapped and perhaps a little less expensive.

3M Filtrete 12x30x1, MERV 12 AC Furnace Air Filter, MPR 1500, Healthy Living Ultra Allergen, 6-Pack: I cut these in half to 12x15x1 to fit my Sharp Plasma Cluster FP-P40CX as the replacement for the OEM HEPA filter. I do the same with a Nordic Pure 12x30x1 MERV 8 Pleated Pure Carbon Odor Reduction AC Furnace AIr Filter to replace the OEM carbon filter. The 2 together work fine. Ive noticed no decrease in my Sharps effectiveness. Calcs show that this arrangement saves considerable $ over the increasingly hard to find and super expensive OEM combined carbon/HEPA filter unit.
