Like most one inch filters, the cardboard frame is a bit flimsy. I won’t count that against this one as it would be economically impossible to manufacture a super solid filter that’s only meant to be used for three months. I inserted it easily into my air return and it fit well. I did pay attention to the measurements when I ordered these. Some brands are so much smaller that they can move around in the opening when the a/c is running. These are a really good fit. The test will be how well they work on allergens. My dust allergies have gotten so much worse and I need all the help I can get. My a/c unit has a thick, expensive five inch filter in the attic but it does not help that much with the a/c running almost nonstop this past summer. I previously had filters in all three air returns but when I had my system balanced a few years ago, the technician suggested I leave those filters out. I bought air purifiers and they are helping in the rooms they are in but I wanted a more whole house approach. We’ll see what happens after three months with these in all the returns.

I have had difficulty finding this size of filter in the local stores in anything other than the flimsiest style. This is a brand that I like and it was so much easier to order them and have t hem delivered than spend time trying to find them. I could have ordered from the big box stores, but it was easier with Amazon. They came boxed well with no crimps or bends.

These are great filters though when I picked up the large cardboard box; double the size of the double filter pack inside I was surprised. I opened the undamaged large cardboard box and the shrink wrapped double filter pack inside had obviously been flopping around violently in that box, with no padding/paper/bubble wrap to prevent such. So the rather expensive filters had crushed edges. Terrible packaging which hopefully gets addressed. :/

Been using this type of filter for a couple of years and it has to be changed every month. Do not believe that it lasts any longer than that. It traps much more than the cheap filters do.
