These filters are very expensive, yet it is impossible to know what filter it is as the information that comes with the filter does not specify a model and there are not markings specifying filtration rating. I am afraid this is not an original item and for that reason will not purchase again online. I tried to post a review about this item before and Amazon refused to post it.

Came damaged, twice... buyer beware

Good filtration without straining the circulating fan motor.

I have a newer Lennox gas furnace, which unfortunately has its exhaust vent right in front of the filter section. Two of the filters can be slid in, but the third needs to be bent a bit to be installed. See the associated picture of pipe. I have removed and replaced the filters every 6 months, so about 3 times. The first time I removed the filters installed by the A/C people (upon unit installation), all 3 were dirty but otherwise in in good shape. The last 2 times, when I removed these 3M filters, the one that had to be bent slightly had HOLES in it. Upon further investigation, all of the filters were essentially coming apart, I can push my finger into a filter and my finger goes through it. The filter pleats just disintegrate into a powder. I cant recommended these at all. They are advertised as being able to filter out fine particles, but certainly cant with holes in them. And all of the filter material that disintegrates has now been blown throughout the house.

This stands up to and supports all its excellent reviews. I have had all kinds of filters but this is the best in the MERV 13 category: especially in Norcal where we are allergy alley! It also captures dust, mold spores and all types of nasty odors. I got curious after noticing that I was getting less coughing at night from my allergies. When I changed-out my last 3M 1900 after Christmas, held it up to sunlight and (see photo) was amazed at its capacity to trap minute particles, . That made me proud I spent the extra buck.
