I learned a long time ago, when a 3M product is available dont use anything else.

Works well to keep the muck out of the house and out of our lungs!

Filtrete app requires scanning the UPC in order to add the filter to the app. The UPC is on the wrapper, not the filter. I called Filtrete as recommended in the app when you do not have a UPC. I was promised a call back, but never happened. I went to the hardware store and scanned a new filter.

This was supposed to filter away smoke, at MPR 1900. One of my neighbors is an old woman, and she burns her trash several times per week (!). I asked her to stop doing it, but with no effect. I live in Hong Kong, and some older people just burn everything, rather than recycling it or taking it to the trash. Her smoke goes into my HVAC system, and the whole house smells. I got these filters expecting to capture the smoke. It likely captures some of the smoke content, but not the smell. The whole house still smells like a campfire every time she burns her trash. Maybe I was just expecting too much. Maybe I need to add an active carbon filter?

My mother and I perpetual allergies, with mom being asthmatic and me being somewhat prone to dermatitis. Living next to an active road with a cat meant that searching for the highest MPR rated filter for my condo is an absolute must. I started using the 1900 MPR 12x24x1 filter when I moved to my condo almost two years ago (unfortunately there is no 2200 MPR rating for filters in that dimension). When my mom visited, she was both able to stay for an extended period of time without itching, sneezing, or hives. As for me, I find that it reduces my dermatitis significantly. Not too expensive, and well worth the higher standard of living especially when it comes to indoor air.

I have used these filters for years and was so pleased I could get them in the odd size my new system requires.
