Really nice sound, took me back 50 years ago. Enjoying spinning lots of old vinyl Rock and Roll .Great table with upgrade.

I bought an RT85 a few weeks ago so feel confident in making some review comments about it. I think its important to know what this turntable is and isnt, in order to keep expectations in line with the price you are paying. To keep this short, heres my summary of pros and cons:

Been using now for over a month and it sounds great. Easy to put together and setup arm. Very happy with this turntable

I havent listened to any of my albums in over 20 years. Theyve been packed in boxes, tightly and I wasnt sure how they would sound.

Update 1/24 - Must have been a bad lot b/c the Marantz TT replacement in the identical set-up (cables/amp/ground/speakers/isolation table/location sounds WONDERFUL. Sorry RT85, may all others not experience what we went through for almost 2 months.

Set up is a breeze. Hooked up the TT base with power, RCA cables and ground wire. Added some anti noise ferrite core to the RCA cables. Like the ground wire with copper contact. Very good RCA cables out of the box. Next level the platform, very easy with the leveler that came with it. Then add the motor cover and then the acrylic platter and the belt. Add the cartridge and balancing weight and then balance the stylus force to 1.8g. Then I checked the alignment and Azimuth and both are right on the button. Set the anti skate to match the 1.8g. Finally add the dust cover. Use Dire Straight album for test. Clean, beautiful, detailed music came out of the Heresy pushed by Emotiva TA-100 using internal phono pre-amp. Well worth the money! Can’t wait to put my other cartilage on it and see what it can do!
