> 24 hourIve read all the reviews, and I had had the same issues with the batteries. I called Fluke and they say that it is a known issue and they are fixing them. I have had mine for about 4 years and use it almost daily. There have been occurrences where the display would not turn on, and when I opened the battery compartment, my batteries were splitting on the verge of leaking. I caught this twice and was able to clean it out without any residual damage. Hopefully Fluke has the fix needed to solve this issue. With the battery issue being addressed by Fluke, I see no problems in the future. As long as the battery issue is corrected, I would definitely buy this meter again.

> 24 hourIt seems whenever I need this meter and turn it on , the screen is dead! I have to replace the batteries again! This thing is a piece of crap! There is not enought warning when the batteries need replacement and it always drains the batteries even when off (due to the wireless feature). The microscopic figure on how to place the batteries is too small. Ive had to replace these batteries at least 3X a year! Im sticking to my old 87 model. At least that one last 1 year w/o battery replacement. The 233 model remote feature is nice when you need it, by I cannot trust this meter to function when I need it out in the field!

> 24 hourThis item was received in a timely fashion in excellent shape and packaging. I have been using it at work in a manufacturing/plating area and it has performed as advertised. It has made my job safer and easier. Thank you.

> 24 hourFor years I have been trying to monitor voltages and currents from around the corner or a certain distance. For example, monitoring a signal under the hood of a car while youre sitting inside. I would either create long test lead extensions, or try to place the multimeter near the windshield. With this 233, its a perfect solution. Simply set up the MM body near the circuit, and pop off the head and there you go!

> 24 hourThis meter is the worst fluke I have ever owned or used. When I need it the batteries are dead. The removable display is great when it works. I would have not bought it if I had known this design flaw. It also has a corrosion problem at the batteries. The only way to keep this meter working is remove the 5 batteries after every use. Fluke should offer some type of fix for this meter.

> 24 hourThe most awesome thing about this meter is it enables you to hook it up inside your equipment: transformers, disconnects, panels, buckets, etc. close the door, turn it on & check your readings without the arc flash exposure! - You can decrease the instances where you have to wear arc-flash gear. The magnetic screen allows you to stick it & work handsfree ! Its great for troubleshooting too - you can put an amp clamp on the desired circuit, walk around with a load, plug it in & watch you screen show the amperage change. You will need a few accessories: a case, amp clamp, & the alligator clips.

> 24 hourIf you have any need to use this meter to inspect readings below 22 mV AC, do not buy this meter. The specification says it is accurate from 0.1mV AC to 1000V AC. However, after many weeks of working with Fluke on an issue of the meter not reading below 22 mV AC, while comparing readings using two different devices, they finally admitted that the Fluke 233 is not going to be able to read those values. They offered to replace the 233 with an 87V device for free. Thanks for trying to replace my $315 meter with a $280 meter with less capability for remote viewing. They were informed we would be keeping the 233 to do remote display capabilities, but were very disappointed that the specifications were not met by a flagship product. Clearly shows a lack of testing and support to fix their design.
