> 3 dayWe use gaffer tape for our live sound work for a band. We tape it to the base of the mixer and label what/who is on each channel, and then easily remove it at the end of the gig if the mixer/system is being used by others. Also used to label the many XLR and 1/4 cables from mics/instruments to the mixer, and those used out to monitors for quick set up.

> 3 dayI keep hoping that one of these off-brands will work well for half the price, but they dont do the job. They are much harder to tear cleanly, harder to pull the tape off the roll, and dont stick as well. The material is more plasticky rather than clothy like ProGaffe.

> 3 dayIll be the first to admit it. I just didnt get it at first. I didnt get this whole infatuation with gaffer tape. What the heck is gaffer tape anyway? Dont compare gaffer tape to duct tape like I did to a gaffer tape believer or youll spend the next 30 minutes of your life listening to how gaffer tape is used to secure all kinds of stuff to all sorts of other kinds of stuff. Dont be surprised if the person telling you this also tries to sneak in that Swiss doctors believe gaffer tape can cure cancer. Oh, and apparently its hand woven by monks that live in an isolated monastery somewhere. At the prodding of my gaffer-tape-friend, I purchased a role. I used it. Sure, it seems like good tape. But I still didnt get the hype. Then, a few days ago I re-watched the movie Snatch--you know, the one where Brad Pitt plays a bare-knuckled boxer-periwinkle-blue-caravan-salesman--and a light bulb went on in my head. I totally get gaffer tape now.....but its named the wrong thing. Gaffer tape should be called Gypsy tape! The whole point of this tape is to hold things in place for just a little while, and then be removed with no trace--just like a band of roving gypsies. Anyway, I try to use my gypsy tape as often as I can. If I find myself reaching for a roll of duct tape, I stop and ask myself if gypsy tape would be better. Im trying real hard to be a convert....Im just not there yet. Maybe its because I didnt go to film school or play the guitar. ####UPDATE 11/17/2016#### So I finally had a need to use gypsy tape where duct tape was not the best choice. I lost (well, maybe my kids lost it) the battery cover for my TV remote and I was going crazy having the batteries fall out all the time. I had used a piece of duct tape (at least it was black tape so it sort of blended with the color of the remote) but it left gooey stickiness behind. After cleaning it up, I applied some Gaffer tape and its been great! No messy, sticky residue left behind.

> 3 dayIm revising my original meh review after using the gaffer tape a few times. The hood on my car would not lock down after checking the oil so I used 2 (two) 6 inch strips of this tape to hold the hood down until I could drive the 20 highway miles to my mechanic, in the rain. And after getting there it peeled off easily and I could have reused it again if I had wanted. The second time was a test. I taped one end of a 2X4 to my workbench using gaffer tape and gorilla brand tape. About 6 feet of the 2X4 extended in to space. After leaving for the night the gaffer taped board was still in place and not even sagging. The gorilla taped board was resting on the ground. Further, the gorilla tape left a glue residue while the gaffer tape peeled off clean. I give it 4 stars because I still think its about twice as expensive as it should be. Good product, does what it says it will do. But there are lots of other tape products out there that are just as good or better, but at half the price. Gaffer tape sounds really cool but the reality is that great tape these days is not that hard to find. For instance, genuine commercial quality duct tape (forget the Duck crap) is easy to find at most big box stores and is half the price but twice the value. This is the stuff that commercial heating guys use to bond metal heating ducts together in the bowels of buildings, lasting for decades. Great technology but commonly available. Do your homework, forget the hype, save some money.

> 3 dayThis tape is real gaffer tape, not just a tricked up duct tape as most are. It adheres well, it tears evenly and when youre removing it, it releases smoothly without tearing. What more can you want?

> 3 dayI used this graffen tape to make a custom insert for my copy of the board game Wingspan using cardboard. I saw it recommended online and decided to try it out. I never used graffen tape, but I liked that it was easy to use and mold. It was stickier than I was expecting, but it comes off nicely off from the table and the non-adhesive side of the graffen tape, allowing me to reposition pieces. It did NOT come off nicely off the cardboard itself and a few times I ripped off layers of the cardboard. If the adhesives side meets another adhesive side...all is lost. I also used it for covering a cut on the card table I use and it is satisfying to know there isnt going to be gunk left over from the duct tape. I liked the way it felt and it worked well for my purposes. I did consider the Amazon brand but chose this one instead and Im satisfied with the results.

> 3 dayIm using white to run black Klipsch speaker cables-powering a 7.2 Atmos setup-along walls and under doorways. One section is approx 30 ft long and vertically holds the two stiff in-wall rated rear surround cables flush where the walls and baseboards meet. Nobody notices. Ive had it up for one or two months and still no trace of peeling, fading, etc. The tape is still as white as the walls and the material really helps to blend it in. For my use, it has far exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps someone.
