> 3 dayI got this to use as bedding in a snake tank. The package was not sealed when it arrived- there was cypress shake in the shipping box. I’m very wary of introducing mites, molds, and other contaminants, but this is the first time I’ve ever washed the substrate before using it. It was not worth the trouble and I’m not doing it again. I’m going back to the bark we used before.

Greater than one weekI dont own a reptile. But I did buy a dormant bare root rose plant from the US branch of a breeder in England. I live in a hot climate so mulch is used to help keep the roots from getting too hot. I didnt want to spend money on a giant bag from a garden center when I only needed a small amount. This bag was perfect to add an inch or two thick layer on top of the soil in my 20x17 container. If its great for my rose, it must be great for reptiles too.
