I have literal owned over a dozen of these. They work great, are easy to read, and most importantly are the easiest I found that insert into the TR (tamper resistant) outlets. I am a home inspector so I use this on a daily basis, so over 100 times a day 5 days a week for work. They last anywhere between 2-6 months at most. They are cheap enough but carry several in my bag since I never know when it will fail. So good for the homeowner but not so good for professional daily use.

Works good and indications are accurate. My only complaint is the legend (key) of what the lights mean printed on the device cannot be read. The little ovals indicating on/off combinations are impossible to see. You cannot tell if the little oval is indicating on or off unless in bright light with the aid of magnification.

I own a small construction company that focuses on reside and commercial renovation; I used this often as it is a great time saving device that is incredibly durable and accurate!

This one was one of the lowest cost outlet testers I could find. It doesnt have any fancy gadgets but it does what it is intended to do. I really dont think I will need another one since it seems sturdy enough. I am not an electrician so I cant comment on specs, but this is great for us DIY people.

Not that it got the most love and care but after a few uses the ground prong snapped off in the outlet. But I fished it out and it fit snugly so I gave it a try and it worked. Then I added a dab of super glue and its been fine. Wish theyd make these audible with a non-annoying sound so you didnt need to walk back and look if testing a circuit (dont tell me a radio as the convenience is its small). That would also help find it when you (well, I) leave it somewhere.

Love the size, the color (red), ease of use. Easily test any power socket. Talk about plug and play... lol This tester cost so little and provides so much confidence knowing that my home is wired correctly, and that GFCI outlets trip correctly. Quality is top notch as well. Would buy again. Very happy with this tester. Add on item for shipping - still arrived fast - 2 days.

Very useful. It actually tells you what the problem is.

When using this product for some odd reason certain new types of outlets it will not go in and I have to literally jam it in to make it go in side the socket. I need to figure out why it keeps doing that. But overall it is a good product.

I was playing my electric guitar in my basement a couple months ago when I felt a mild tingle in my hands. After reading up and considering getting my amplifier repaired, I decided to spend a few bucks on a tester first. I found out that despite having three prongs, none of the outlets in the basement are grounded. If I knew that before I bought the house, I would have made the seller fix it. This tester works great, is easy to read, and is very inexpensive.
