> 3 dayFor a tool that is a safety tester, its not all that safe when its hard to read the color coding label on it. I used a black marker and filled in the white markers, which helps, but if you dont have good vision, its safer if you write it out on a big piece of paper. :D But everything else is fine, the GFCI test button responds well, and its very sturdy. And I like that its rounded rather than edged, so it fits nicer in your pocket.

> 3 dayJust plug it in and you look at the lights and reference chart on the device. I wish the signal lights were a little brighter when used outdoors, but works well enough.

> 3 dayTried it on a few different wiring orientations, and on GFCI outlets. Everything works as advertised, and indicates wiring problems accurately. Had it for almost a year, and it still comes in handy.

> 3 dayThis is a great tool for the Convenient Store refrigeration guy, or anyone else just looking to confirm proper ground/power situation. A quick diagnosis and simple to understand. I have a few of these and they all still perform well. Gave them to my Service Techs as gifts, and saves time. Especially up here in the Northeast, where lots of folks do their own wiring the Yankee way... nuff said???

> 3 dayThis is a good idea, but the materials are probably poorly assembled or improperly assembled. I tested this for reverse polarity in both positions. I connected the tester to a NEMA 5-15 to NEMA 1-15 (non polarized) adapter so I could test the reversal of polarity in a safe manner. But to my dismay the red indicator never turned on once, in reversed and correct position. The red pilot light is totally dead. The indicator however, does properly identify open and correct ground. For what thats worth. I was suspicious of this tester as I heard a small jingle in the tester, but I paid no mind at first. I am glad I tested it to make sure it was in working order. I think Ill just pay a tiny bit extra for a non contact voltage tester. But not from GB. Update: received a replacement that also was not able to detect reversed polarity. Do not buy this product, it provides a false sense of security. But a non-contact voltage tester instead.

> 3 dayThis is good for a quick basic check of your outlets. Lights are easy to see and the reference guide to the meanings of the lights is right on the device. It was able to accurately detect an issue I had with some old wiring. Depending on your issue you may still need a multimeter and/or a licensed electrician.
