Migrated from Apple Watch 3 to Garmin as was fed up charging it everyday. Considered Fenix 5, however, that was twice the weight, so dropped the plan and went for Forerunner 935. Have been using since for 04 days and the battery is down by 8%!!! Not gone for a run yet,hence, no comments. Overall a good buy!

light weight, long battery life and wrist based heart rate monitor make this a big step up from my last Forerunner. The bluetooth connection with the phone offers tons of new features and the stylish design allows me to wear not only for running.

In the past week I bought the Fitbit Versa (nice budget watch) and each of the Garmin Forerunner 735xt, Fenix 5, and Forerunner 935, in that order. The FR 935 is clearly the best combo of everything: relatively lightweight for every day wear + advanced features for the mountains (altimeter, barometer, compass). The 735xt seems nice, but it’s cheap feeling. The Fenix 5 is great, but honestly a bit too heavy (especially if like me you haven’t worn a watch in years). If the weight isn’t a concern, or you know you need something more rugged (and slightly better looking) definitely get the Fenix 5. But aside from that, I’d say go for the FR 935. The quality is much better than the 735xt, as is the feature set (the 735xt is really ideal for sub-ironman tris, whereas the 935 is truly multi sport). The only issue will be screen durability: clearly a screen protector is needed for the 935.
