> 3 dayGood replacement for my Edge 800 that gave up on me after 10-12 years. Lots of selectable data fields to display. Some new ones that are supposed to help gauge your riding ability that seem a bit gimmicky to me but others may think otherwise. The screen is a little smaller than the 800 but I haven’t found that to be a problem. I’ve used it for one mountain ride, one trainer and 4 road rides and gave me all the data I needed. Hopefully this works as good and long (longer) than my 800 and doesn’t have the connectivity issues that I’ve had with my 925xt watch. As with all Garmin products the price is kind of high but I stuck with a Garmin product due to familiarity. So far so good. Delivery of the unit was actually a day quicker than promised so I definitely liked that.

> 3 dayIll leave the reviews to the professional reviewers. I just ride and I want the data without excessive hassle. Edge 830 solves/addresses and eliminated the problems I was having with my Edge 510. The 510 performed great for several years, but problems crept in. After looking over all makes and models, I stayed with Garmin. I have no regrets.

> 3 dayThe larger screen, touch screen with phone-like response, jump recording, flow and grit, additional fitness metrics... all great. The mapping is also MUCH better. It shows the mountain bike trails and is now large and clear enough to use it to choose routes on the fly. I stopped using the maps on my 820 because it was hard to follow and showed very few trails from Traikforks. The 830 shows even obscure minor trails. It is very helpful

Greater than one weekReplaced a Wahoo Elemnt with this. Love it. More features, better connectivity, and seems to be far more accurate with power, calories burned, and speed. Also navigation is and the ability to reroute mid-ride is a huge bonus! Costs more than the Elemnt, but you get far more bang for your buck! Oh and color, touch screen...sweet!

> 3 dayI was either getting the 530, 830 or the 1030 Plus. Im glad I went with the 830 which is the perfect size for my electric scooter with the touchscreen capability. Setup was quick and easy. I was setting the device at home, but the map was not updating. Silly me. i had to be outside for it to pick up the satellite signal! Cant wait to go scooting around San Francisco. Itll be much easier to track my destination without taking my phone out. This model doesnt have voice navigation but the beeping works fine. I know this device was meant for bikes, but itll work on an electric scooter too.

> 3 dayI purchased the 830 for my communter/mountain bike. I have a 1030 for my road but didnt want to keep switching the unit between bikes and wanted a smaller unit without the bells and whistles. The selling point for the 830 is the color touch screen. The 530 has no touch screen. I had initially purchased the 130 but it was too small and black and white screen was difficult to see for me. (it has all the other bells and whistles). Although I didnt want the bells and whistles, I use the varia radar (a must for riding on the road) and it was more visible on the 830. So I took the bells and whistles as well, even though I dont need. Overall the unit is ostensible a smaller 1030. Th only issues are the blue tooth connections can be wonky.(with all the devices). Sometimes they dont recognize my iPhone and you have to start a new connection. Then the old connection is still there, and the unit gets confused. Then you delete the old one and the new one doesnt work. A little frustrating when it occurs but thankfully not frequently. Many companys forgo quality at the expense of profit, but Garmin keeps offering a quality product. I hope this continues. Although I attempt to be low tech and stay off the phone addiction thing, I have purchased just about every Garmin product. (Fenix watch, S2 smart scale, rally power pedals, 1030, Varia radar-a must for cycling safety).

Greater than one weekUse for mostly power based training with power meter and AXS integration, ride tracking, heart rate data, distance, elevation etc. Tons of features like starred strava segment pop ups, real time climb data with graphics, pop up segment tracking against best time, interval training lap data etc. Lots of screen choices-up to 10 data points. Not touch screen so you need to familiarize yourself with navigation the various menus to get to what you need.
