However, one drawback worth mentioning is the relatively weak backlighting. The brightness of the keyboards illumination is not as strong as some other models on the market.

The GLORIOUS GMMK 2 comes prebuilt with linear switches which gives off a quiet sound, satisfying to the ears. The keyboard comes with the ability to download software where you can control the lighting and shortcuts. It is full size but it feels small which is nice because it doesn’t take a lot of my desk space.

I LOVE this keyboard! The keyboard base itself is heavy, and probably the most sturdy keyboard base Ive seen. The original switches included are great. They have a good amount of range and click to them (although not nearly as much as my previous Roccat Vulcan). If they wont work for you, the switches can be hot-swapped! One note about removing the switches. I know Im a total noob when it comes to a customizable keyboard, but if youre not aware, you need to use the switch puller on the top and bottom of the switches, and NOT the left and right. I honestly thought I had to grab and pull REALLY hard to get the switches to come out... Dont be like me... Theres clips on the top and bottom to easily press and pull them out. The only reason I gave Volume Control 2 stars is because theres no physical switches or dials to control volume. To do this, you have to press the Fn+B, N, or M for mute, -, and + respectively. Not convenient, and not a motion that comes naturally. Also not something I bought this keyboard for, so not something thats going to knock a star off the total rating! This is an amazing keyboard! The fact that the Enter key is labeled ASCEND makes me feel like Im going to get raptured every time I need to create a new line! I LOVE IT!!!

Keyboard looks and feels great but the actual key presses are mushy feeling and not good for gaming at all especially fps games. It’s a glorified typing keyboard.

RGB is really bright and the quality is great. The keyboard supports QMK too. Note the default software does not let you layer effects.

This GMMK 2 from Glorious has been my daily use keyboard for the past few weeks now and I have to admit I am quite impressed with its out of the box performance. I know that at first Glorious with their early runs of the GMMK Pro were having issues with the lube on their stabilizers, but it seems like they have dialed it in and I am really pleased with the stabilizers on this board, there is little to no rattle on the modifier keys, except for the space bar which needs a little bit of work. The prelubed fox switches just feel like better cherry mx reds, their actuation force and overall feel are really similar to that of cherry mx reds but the smoothness is a bit better as they are lubed. The switch lubing seems to have been done quite well and I didnt notice any keys that felt over or under lubed. The keycaps are just standard double shot abs keycaps and feel as you would expect, the legend is crisp and the shine through backlighting looks great. The customizability in the Glorious Core software is really good and I have zero complaints there. The overall construction of the chassis is great it has a hunk of metal for a top half and the bottom is plastic which makes for some rather interesting acoustics, has a nice deep note to it without any of the pinging that comes with some poorly designed all metal boards. Overall this is a great starter board if you are looking to get into custom mechanical keyboards, it has fantastic out of the box performance but also has plenty of room to improve and that can be easily done with its hotswap sockets and relatively easy disassemble process.
