First, the title includes cross stitch and I see nothing about cross stitch in the package. Only embroidery. Also, did not find a needle but I did not examine each of the 3 packets, only one. Still, you would think there would be a needle with the thread. I guess embroidery has changed a lot since I was a child doing it, because these are mostly outline with fill in stitches. Wish the hoop was wood, it does say plastic, just wishing. So for me - huge disappointment - as I was relying on the description cross stitch. Also, the instructions for stitches are all so tiny I will need either to have them enlarged and printed or get a big magnifying glass.

I am always looking for a new hobby that is great for beginners. This was so much fun and has great instructions. Looks great and makes me want to do more.

I bought this as a gift. And the recipient loves it. Good kit that includes all needed components.

These arent very big but they are pretty. Some of the switching is a little tricky but it just takes practice.

Okay so I am not a beginner beginner but this isnt my go to craft, it isnt even my go to needle craft. I tend to go for cross stitch before embroidery but I have three girls who love butterflies. So far I am almost done with the purple butterfly but not the whale or flowers on that one, just the butterfly. I use Thread Magic conditioner on anything I am sewing to prevent knots and tangles. I read through the descriptions of the stitches as a refresher before I got started. Most of the descriptions are pretty clear but the outline stitch is a little confusing. Honestly it could just be that I was taught to do a back stitch for outlines instead of what was described as an outline stitch. I was also taught how to secure both sides of the threads without knots, so the only knots my grandma found expectable on your embroidery, front or back, was french knots, which I am really good at. There is nothing of this in the hints, I think it would be a fabulous thing to add to their hints. You secure each end of any thread underneath your stitches, so when you are done with a color you use your needle to slide under a number of stitches slide your needle off and then trim the thread close to where it comes out of the stitches. This trick leaves you with a cleaner canvas on the back making it softer if you turn it into a pillow. (Which is my intent with these butterflies and whales, a throw pillow for each of my daughters beds.) So far I have not had any issue with the threads breaking, I have had some shedding but not too bad. I have also only used bamboo hoops before this, I really like the hoop that came with this kit. The needles are longer then I am used to but are easy to thread and are sharp enough for easy sewing. These are very good kits.

This kit is actually better than I thought it would be. It has everything you need to complete three projects. Note that only one hoop is included, though. So if youre planning to hang these with the hoops attached, you will have to buy more. They have easy to read instructions too. The designs are really pretty, and they would be great to hang on your wall or to give as gifts. The florals are very true-to-life and the look draws the eye.

Love that this kit has everything needed and directions are easy to follow. Easily transported and can be done at those kids sports games, day at the beach, camping or curled up by the fire.

I got this for a fun girls night in. We felt that the embroidery kit was fairly early for beginners and we just laughed through the more difficult sections. I think we would have been much more successful without the liquid courage!!

I am giving embroidery a try for the first time. I read a lot of historical fiction, and I am always intrigued by the image of ladies sitting down to embroider or do other handicrafts. I have failed at knitting and crochet. Embroidery, since I have some basic sewing experience, seemed it might be more accessible to me. This set caught my eye. The butterfly art is actually beautiful, and I like the way the flowers mimic the shape of the butterfly. I want to make these! This kit is awesome. It gives me confidence that I can do this. There are three separate patterns with cloth, the appropriate thread/floss, needles and instructions. There is one frame. It is a larger frame, which is good requiring less good eyesight and dexterity. I chose what I think is the simpler pattern, loaded it on the frame, and tried a few stitches. The instructions are fairly clear, although I have had some questions Ive had to check online for answers. But I seem to be able to do it. Its going to take me forever, especially this first time until I get the stitches down, but this kit gives me the tools, instructions, and confidence that I can get it done. It looks so cool so far, and I cant wait to work on it some more over the weekend.

This is a fun and beautiful project. It comes with three separate kits that come individually packed. It only comes with one hoop though. The instructions are clear and easy to understand in general. I only had to look up a video on how to do the French knot cause it wasn’t super clear by reading the instructions. The pictures also don’t have the perfect same color as the embroidery floss but it’s easy to figure it out. I am still working on my project but I am loving it and I cannot wait for it to be done. The patterns are all super pretty!
