GU Energy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, 24-Count, Vanilla Bean

This has helped my endurance on longer runs and bike rides. Because of the cost, I use it only for competition runs, or when Im cycling with people who I have trouble keeping up with. I figure that 100 calories every 45 minutes, when Im burning 400+ calories, is a good tradeoff. And the slightly better pace offsets some of those calories. The cost is too high, even at Amazons discount pricing, for me to use it for regular running and cycling.

Ive used other electrolyte boosters (bars, drinks, gels, etc.) while running 12+ miles and GU is by far my favorite. I like this source of energy while Im running because it is portable, light on stomachs, and works in about 10 minutes (when taken with water).

Been using clif shots and thought Id try these out as they seem like they might have a better balance of items. The Gu tastes odd, definitely not of vanilla. Might try another type, but Clif have all tasted better.

These are my go to product with endurance sports. I feel so much better during my long distance rides, runs and swims. They are so little but have the nutrition I need so they are not bulky. I love this flavor the best and feel the caffeine kick gives me a boost but not one that makes me feel shaky.

In my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.

Good taste, easy to get down while running, requires only a sip of water afterwards, and greatly enhances performance.

I have Type 1 Diabetes and Gu is my go-to for treating low blood sugars. Dissolves quickly like juice, but not heavy to carry. My two favorite flavors are Espresso & Vanilla.
