> 3 dayThe grape one tastes like bad cough medicine, but the others were great! After trying these flavors, I’m doing subscribe and save with the caramel flavor.

> 3 dayI am an endurance cyclist, and one of the challenges Ive had over the years is finding on-the-bike snacks that both supply carbs/electrolytes/caffeine AND taste good. Usually taste is the big issue for me, with things either being too sweet (which seems to lead to stomach upset for me) or tasting too much like chemicals. I tried one of these packets that a friend had while out on a bike ride in December, and it was so good that I promptly pulled out my phone, opened the Amazon app, and ordered a box. The salt component of this flavor keeps it from being too sweet, it has all of the rest of the balanced ingredients you need to maintain good performance on the bike, and I had no issues digesting it. I hope they make this a regular flavor, as it is one of my new favorites!

07-06-2025I have tried many of the GU energy Gel and the Vanilla Bean is by far my favorite. If you dont really like these energy gels just imagine this one tastes like ice cream. Some of the other flavors arent to my taste but this is the only one I will use on a long run. Recommended advice is to take 1 just 5 mins before starting running then every 45 minutes during a run. This is what I do and gives me the perfect boost to keep going. Its important to train with these rather than just use them during races, and if they give you free energy gels half way through a race and they arent your regular brand dont take them. No need to experiment during a big race - just keep taking what you are used too. If you previously tried GU and are thinking of trying a new flavor then I highly recommend this one.

> 3 dayIn my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.

Greater than one weekI used to use Gu energy gels exclusively for a couple of years when I first started running, and then the last couple of years my wife has been buying other energy gels and jelly beans. I decided to get some more of the vanilla gels since they have slightly higher amounts of potassium than the other products we have been using. However, I removed one star because I just find it hard to use this product when running. The thickness of the gel inside makes it harder to swallow than other similar products and for some reason it just always seems messier and stickier than the other products. I still like it and use it, but when it is gone I will likely not buy more.

> 3 daySalted Caramel GU helped me train for and crush my second marathon! Delicious and sticky with a little salt and caffeine to keep you going. I have a hard time with other flavored gels because the texture is rather gross. Gooey orange? Salty berry? No thanks. The benefit of salted caramel is you expect caramel to be gooey, so its not revolting to eat something flavored like caramel, that has the texture of caramel.
