> 3 dayThese things taste like plastic and the box I had came with a two or three that didnt seal properly from the factory and had some GU leaking out. Other than that, theyre pretty good. I used them on 2 marathons and quite a few training runs. However, theres something about them that didnt seem quite right. Maybe they were quality rejects? Others Ive had just had more real caramel taste.

20-11-2024These are hands down the best trail chowder I have ever consumed! I have been an avid mountain biker since 1990 and have eaten uncountable quantities of nasty sawdust bars, puke flavored bars (see Pro Bar), lumpy gag inducing goo packs, fruity heartburn slime and other varying grotesquiries. These are actually so yummy I crave them when I am not bonking on my bike... Thank you Gu, you have finally made something so tremendously tasty that I actually look forward to trail food time.

> 3 dayI like GU. It helps me make it through my intense training days without making me dizzy or giving me heart palpatations the way pre-workout would. I usually take it after my warm-up and cardio are done, for the boost of energy I need to get through my strength routine. These little gels also make it easier to get through morning workouts before breakfast without absolutely crashing halfway through. I love these gels as a workout aid! I have even noticed less muscle soreness since I started using them. However, the flavors available are disappointing. I have bought GU from this seller, but also at a pre-marathon booth and let me tell you... there are 4 times as many flavors as this Amazon seller provides. Where is the Blackberry? Where is the Smores? The Toasted Marshmallow? These flavors of GU are all vastly better than vanilla. The basic flavors are the least pallatable because there is less flavoring to hide the taste of the gel. Please list more flavors!

> 3 dayDecent flavor and as easy to get down as any gel (which isnt that easy but easier than gummies). I wish they offered a smaller packet because its kind of hard to get the whole thing down, especially late in a run and once youve opened it, youre committed to either finishing it or finding a trash can. Id rather carry twice as many 50cal packs and be able to eat less at a time. The packet offers some excessive recommendations about how many of these to use (1 before starting then another one every 45 minutes). If you follow those instructions, youll probably puke (or want to). . Everybodys different but if youre new to gels and sports one uses them for, dont start by following the directions, start with a much more conservative regimen (like none to start and 1 every 90 minutes or 2 hours) to see how you tolerate it and how often you really need it. Also, they recently started marketing this as something you might eat in casual settings like before going to the gym- thats ridiculous- the only reason to use this product rather than eat real food is if the duration and circumstances of your activity require fuel that a) you can carry with you in short shorts b) you can consume while moving and c) can get your blood sugar up without requiring a fully operational digestive system. Its not a workout enhancer, its just a packet of sugars and electrolytes that tastes good enough that it doesnt make most people sick.

22-11-2024I am an endurance cyclist, and one of the challenges Ive had over the years is finding on-the-bike snacks that both supply carbs/electrolytes/caffeine AND taste good. Usually taste is the big issue for me, with things either being too sweet (which seems to lead to stomach upset for me) or tasting too much like chemicals. I tried one of these packets that a friend had while out on a bike ride in December, and it was so good that I promptly pulled out my phone, opened the Amazon app, and ordered a box. The salt component of this flavor keeps it from being too sweet, it has all of the rest of the balanced ingredients you need to maintain good performance on the bike, and I had no issues digesting it. I hope they make this a regular flavor, as it is one of my new favorites!
