The control is a touch annoying, but hey thats hakko. The iron is comfortable and heats up very quickly, you will not do better for $100. Unless you want to shell out $250 I do not think you could do any better.

It has been an easy to use iron doing everything I need it to.

This is my 3rd Hakko soldering station over 30 years, all of them still working. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend. Cost a little more than most, but worth the peace of mind it will last.

Fast, keeps perfect temperature. Head stay well over time, the liner at the bottom of the tip holder is made of metal and is removable

Excellent soldering iron. The previous version could not survive having a large weight being dropped on it.

Best soldering station I ever bought. A friend of mine said it is the last soldering station I will ever need to buy. Very happy with everything it has. From a wide range of temperature to a wire Brillo pad it is the best of the best in my opinion.

I didnt know what I was missing. My old station was hardly a station, no temperature sensing and kinda hot. This thing heats up fast and recovers well while keeping a low temp. But I have not even adjusted it for SMD stuff yet, so well see.
