> 3 dayWorks great, no reason to have the metal rail on top. I was able to easily install it beneath the metal springs of the bed.

> 3 dayThe instructions were not really clear and they didn’t label any of the bars so I was honestly confused. But I was guessing on how to put it on my sons crib I finally figured it out. When it came to putting it on the crib, you should make it clear for the black metal piece and not the crib itself. It was easy but not your directions or instructions. I did do it backwards but I figured it out and got it on right. I looked forever for a toddler rail that would match his crib and couldn’t because my crib doesn’t have the actual railing for it, but this works and does the job.

> 3 dayI was very skeptical about this at first but I’ve had it for maybe 2 years now and it’s held up. I would say make sure it fits your type of bed. Mine didn’t but I made it work by using zip ties at the bottom. But it does the job. Even with my son constantly pushing on it and everything. There’s now a little hole but that’s mainly because he keeps picking at it. I really recommend if you’re trying make sure then little one doesn’t roll off the end like mine used too

> 3 dayWe had a couple of surprises installing the safety rail. First, one of the rods was affixed to the hinge backwards, so that the hole in the rod would not match up with the coupling on the other rod. My husband had to drill a hole in the metal rod to make it work (and it took three tries to get it large enough). Im sure it was just a mistake in the manufacturing that doesnt apply to all of the products, but it was pretty annoying to have to drill a hole. If you run into that problem, dont spend a long time trying to reposition the rods like we did - its not you! - just drill the hole and it will work fine. Second, our crib has three mattress levels. We were using the lowest setting, but we could not secure the anchors while the crib was on the lowest setting. There simply wasnt enough room between spring on the mattress and the crib frame for the anchor to fit. We could have installed a board and drilled holes in the board, but (because of the first problem), my husband was tired of drilling when no tools were supposed to be required, so we just raised the mattress to the middle level. I will say that having the mattress on the middle level allows for the guard rail to fold down nicely along the bed. If the mattress were on the lowest level, it wouldnt go flat along the bed because the floor would get in the way. Since we had to use the middle mattress setting, were also having to use a stool for my child to crawl into the bed. Given that, I seriously considered just putting the mattress on the lowest setting and doing away the guard rail altogether. But, after the time we invested just getting it set up, we decided to give it a try. Despite the surprises, the product has worked well. I have not experienced any of the issues the other reviewers mention about the lowering the rail. It takes two hands to do it, but otherwise, its pretty simple. Also, it is very sturdy, so I dont have to worry about it giving way and my child falling out. Also, we had a crib-sized piece of plywood that we used with our AngelCare monitor. We placed this over the support bars for the guard rail and that has kept the support bars from digging into the mattress without compromising stability. All in all, I think its going to be a good transition piece for us, but if I had to do it over again, I may have considered additional options that could be installed with the mattress on the lowest setting and that would not require tools.

Greater than one weekAfter transitioning from crib to toddler bed my little one was excited about being able to get in And out of bed freely. During naps and night time i would have to sit in the room until she was asleep. But she would aslo constantly roll out of the bed because there was no longer the crib railing so In anticipation of her rolling out I put a soft crib mattress on the floor in front of her bed. After 2 days and nights of that i ordered the hiccapop guard and I am so glad I did. On the first night after installing we did our night routine, I put her to bed, put the guardrail up and left the room. She stayed in the bed, didnt try to get out and when she fell asleep I did not worry about her rolling out the bed. I got my nights back, and baby had a good night!

Love it !
Greater than one weekLove this product. Got delivered in 2 days and was easy to instal. I have a piece of mind now my son won’t roll over and hurt himself and still gives him enough space to get out on his own if he needs too. Definitely recommend.

> 3 dayI purchased this back in January. I just noticed that it started to fray. I reached out to the company. In less than an hour I got confirmation that they were sending me a replacement. I highly recommend this product and company .

Greater than one weekWe love this brand. We have had their portable high chair for over a year now and it still works well for us! So easy to clean. Anyway this rail was easy to put together, I installed exactly as directed and there is no bump where the rails are. My toddler leans on the rail all the time and it doesnt move unless we want it to! She has slept perfectly fine with this and we love that she can get in and out of bed safely.

> 3 dayWhen the day comes that your toddler starts scaling their crib rails and you have to remove a side rail, you probably will want to add a low rail to avoid having your toddler roll out of the crib. No one is happy when a toddler rolls out of their bed in the middle of the night. Adding a side rail that is sturdy and stays in place is tricky if you have a steel spring frame that supports the mattress. Some add-on rails use nylon straps to hold the rail in place. That might work on a larger bed with a heavy mattress and a box spring. It does not work with a light crib mattress on a steel frame. The hiccapop rail includes two steel bars that go all the way across the steel spring frame and clamp to the far side. Velcro straps and provided to secure the near side. This provides a very sturdy support for the rail. As a mechanical engineer, I appreciate things that are structurally sound like the hiccapop Convertible Crib Bed Rail for Toddlers.

> 3 dayWe mistakingly did not buy the conversion pieces for his convertible crib and now they no longer manufacturer them. We couldn’t find the toddler rail for his bed and he started climbing out of his crib. We accidentally bought a toddler bed rail and it didn’t fit only to realize it’s for a larger bed not crib. We bought this and it was incredibly easy to install and pretty sturdy considering. We haven’t had any issues with our son falling or getting stuck in between it and the mattress. It’s easy to clean. Our son also has room to climb out of his bed on each side but will not fall during the night. It’s brilliant. My only advice is to use the Velcro straps it comes with because without it it’s not very sturdy. The minute we used them it was a total game changer. You can also use zip ties to secure the bars to the frame if you want extra security. I’d recommend this product for anyone wanting to help their toddler transition from crib to bed. It’s worked for us!
