> 3 dayWe got a new puppy, and accidents happen. Our house is half carpet and half hardwood. While the carpet is by no means great looking, we wanted to avoid creating spots that would attract more problems. Upon arrival, the machine was very easy to put together. Suction and drying seem to be exactly as advertised. Area and regular carpets are dry to the touch in 30 minutes. I did one of our area rugs, which as not been cleaned in 10 years. While I would not call the results amazing, or like new, I was happy with the results. Much nicer to look at now. I only gave 4 overall stars for two reasons. We have always had cats and dogs in the house, and it is amazing how much hair can be in a carpet and you not see it. I have a Dyson vac that I think does a great job, considering what I see in the catch bucket. But, when I cleaned with the Hoover, lots of balls of hair were showing up. They were not sucked up by the Hoover. They just kind of gathered up in golf ball sized clumps. Not a big deal, and some of the hair was being sucked into the machine. On the plus side, it WAS pulling the hair out of the carpet. The other reason was that the machine tends to dribble if it sits, turned off. Like, a tablespoon or two of liquid will be on the hardwood after 5 minutes of being off. So, be careful where you leave it, and be sure to take the bottle out if you are done. I keep the solution bottle filled, out of the machine, where I store it in the closet. When we have a mistake, it is easy to pull out, clean up, empty the catch container, and put away. Maybe 5 minutes for the whole process, which is a LOT better than getting on your hands and knees trying to sop the mess up with a towel. In summary, this is NOT a whole house rug cleaner. It could be, I guess, but there are better options for that. It IS an excellent spot cleaner. Light, easy to use, and effective. Update- 2 weeks later In the last 2 weeks, aside from cleaning mistakes, I have cleaned a 12x12 Area Rug, a 14x14 Herringbone (?) carpet in the computer room, and the plain short pile carpet in the bedroom. As I said earlier, this is not designed as a whole house rug cleaner. However, as I have learned, if you take a little time, and dont mind filling the bottle frequently, it does the same GREAT job on large carpets. Out bedroom was especially nasty. A few pet mistakes and 10 years worth of heavy traffic dirt and grime. I didnt move everything out, just worked around the bed and dressers. Probably a 14x14 area. Took about 6 bottles worth of mix (water and the small amount of cleaner, per instructions) and in the heavy traffic and mistakes area, I went over them and let them soak for 5 minutes, then went over them again. When the wife got home, she immediately noticed the difference, from the living room, 10 feet away. Wow, you did the carpet. It looks great! And, she was right. It does look great. Again, my only real complaint is how it handles hair. All those years of always having pets (3-4 pets) left a LOT of hair, and the Dyson didnt do as good a job of getting it all out as I thought it was. It looked hairless, but obviously not. The Hoover pulled out a softball sized glob of hair. Sometimes, clumps just came out as I was cleaning, the rest I had to rinse out of the brushes in the sink. Since the cleaner is so light, it is easy to just lift it over the kitchen sink and clean the brush out with the faucet. Sounds a lot worse than it really is, maybe 2 minutes to a clean brush. Then again, it IS pulling all that hair out. I can live with the cleaning the brushes aspect. So, for effectiveness, I would give 5+ stars. For the little quibbles about dribbles and cleaning, I only gave it 4 stars.

> 3 dayThe handle for the upholstery cleaner was hard to attach. You had to force it on to make the fluid flow through the hose to the brush trigger. Once we got it to work, it worked well, but I fear that it may break in the near future seeing how much force I had to use to connect the hose...I wish there was a larger compartment for the cleaning fluid and the catchment container...

> 3 dayI ended up having to return it because I ordered the wrong one, but theres absolutely nothing wrong with the pet+ version at all. It worked really well! I look forward to receiving the version with the hose attachment.

> 3 dayGreat lightweight carpet cleaner. Has great suction to remove ALL water from the carpet. Light weight but heavy duty for sure. Save some money and get this carpet cleaner.

20-11-2024I cannot get over how dirty the water was! Such a good cleaner. Only down size, small tank. Had to empty it 2 or 3 times per room.

> 3 dayI bought this carpet cleaner because I was looking for something that was easier to maneuver than my full-sized carpet shampooer. I love how lightweight it is. The water reservoirs are smaller, so you need to fill/dump more often, but I expected this as a trade off. The PowerDash cleaned very effectively. Im very happy with the results. I have to go over the area cleaned 3 times to extract all the water, but I have to do the same thing with my big shampooer. I read some complaints about this in reviews, but I really dont see how an carpet cleaner would extract the shampoo an more effectively without damaging the carpet. This is a compact carpet cleaner and it doesnt clean as wide a path as a full-size machine. But, if you prioritize having a lightweight solution over getting the job done faster, the Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner will probably work well for you.

> 3 dayI really liked this carpet cleaner. Its very easy to use and to clean out. It does a good job of cleaning and sucks the dirty water up really well. Its also not as heavy as some of them so its easier for me to carry around. The price was right - it was definitely a good choice!

> 3 dayHave had this cleaner since October 2021 and overall its a great cleaner for the price point. It is not a professional grade unit, but it does a very good job for home use. There are three drawbacks I can list: • SMALL TANKS - First, both the cleaning solution tank and the dirty water tank are small. So if you have a lot of square footage to clean, you will need to stop frequently to empty the dirty water and refill your cleaning solution. • INADEQUATE SUCTION - Secondly, the suction power is less than with a commercial cleaner so (a) youll need to go over each area slowly and multiple times, and (b) youll probably need to go over each area again with water only in order to make sure theres no residue left behind. • CHEAPLY MADE PARTS - And lastly, at least in my case, the cleaning solution tank was very cheaply made and after only about half a dozen uses it broke. Just before writing this review I was all ready to clean my carpets when I discovered the cap for the tank had deteriorated since the last use, so I had to go to Hoovers website to order a replacement part. After only half a dozen uses, thats disappointing. I have messaged Hoover after ordering the replacement part. Hopefully they will refund the purchase price to make it right. If so I will update this review.

> 3 dayOverall, Im pleased with this Hoover carpet cleaner. We have several large area rugs in our newly built home that havent been cleaned (only vacuumed) since we moved in 18 months ago. We were thinking about getting a professional rug cleaner to do the job, but saw that this carpet cleaner would cost less than a one time cleaning by a professional. The reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Unpacking and assembly was very easy. No tools required. The quick use guide was good if youre the kind of person that doesnt want to take the time to read the entire manual. The manual itself goes into just the right amount of detail to tell you everything you need to know. The machine is very easy to use. Just put warm water into the tank up to the first fill line. Then add the cleaning formula up to the second fill line. The two fill lines take the guess work out of how much formula to use (as long as youre using the correct formula for the machine). Dumping the waste water is easy... just squeeze the handle on top, lift out, dump and reinsert. The machine is very light and easy to handle. Its a very easy machine to use. As far as cleaning, the machine does a pretty good job cleaning my rugs. The waste water was a very dark brown, so it definitely sucked a lot of dirt out. Visually, it was apparent that our rugs looked much cleaner after cleaning them with this machine. So, I am pleased with the result. Especially considering that this machine only cost us $99.00. There were a few spots on our rugs the machine did not get up. So I used my Bissell spot cleaning machine to get those out. Some dirty spots just require a little more muscle and time. One cleaning note - the warm water, formula and scrubbing this machine does will definitely loosen the dirt. But if you rush going back over the carpet to suck out the dirty water, the results wont be as good. I found that a couple of extra passes over the carpet with just the suction on to suck out all the dirty water possible will bring better results. Does this machine clean as well as a professional cleaning? Probably not, especially on deep rugs and carpet. But I dont believe there is much difference between the effectiveness of the two options. If youre willing to purchase this thing and do the work yourself as opposed to using a professional, youll save a lot of money. The question now is, how long will this machine last? Some of the reviews indicate it could die within a year or two. I guess it depends partly on how often you use it. But if I get two years out it, it will be worth the purchase. What would I change about this little rug cleaner? First of all, I wish the electrical cord was longer, but its not a big deal. Second, I wish the two tanks held more water. You have to empty the waste tank and refill the clean water tank often. To clean 5 large rugs and 4 smaller rugs in my home, I refilled the clean water tank a dozen times. I dumped the waster water tank 7 times. Its a bit aggravating to have to refill and dump so many items. But I guess its a trade off to make the machine lighter and easier to handle. I only found one problem with the machine. The machine is designed to stop vacuuming whenever the waste tank is full. There is a full tank line on the waste container. The problem is that the machine stops vacuuming before the full tank line is reached. It took me a little time to figure out what the heck was going on when it stopped vacuuming. Once you know it will stop vacuuming a little short of the line, its not a big deal. But I want to mention it in case those reading this review experienced the same problem. So, I do recommend this machine. Its does a nice job cleaning carpet and rugs. It will save you money if youre willing to do the work yourself.
