Put the item together following instructions. Started to test it on one of my carpets.Pushed the trigger and NO water came out.I rechecked everything and tried again with no luck Ive never had a problem with Hoover products until now Very disappointing. Money wasted and now Ill have to rent a carpet cleaner to do my carpets--more money. Cant send it back for a refund because you cant get the handle pole out after it snaps in.Don t waste your money on this one. UPDATE. I was able to return the carpet cleaner after talking with a great customer service employee She told me how to pack it for return. Amazon shipped me a new one in exchange without any problems .I tested the cleaner and it did a great job. Trust customer service to help you through any problems Super service...

I mainly got this to deal with some old pet stains from my pup who as she turned senior had little accidents here and there - sometimes in places I didn’t notice at first because I have anosmia and couldn’t smell my way to the spot. I was dubious that an inexpensive carpet cleaner would work but thought I’d give it a try. Well let me tell you, this thing is a little miracle worker. A few runs over the area dispensing the cleaner that comes with it (specifically for pet stains), then a few runs over to dry it - and I could not believe how good it looked. Now I want to do the whole carpet with it (granted that will be a job because the water dispenser is not that big - so a lot of refilling with warm water and cleaning stuff). I’ve had carpet cleaning machines before, and this one beats them all. It’s pretty light so not hard to carry up and down the stairs. Cleaning it seemed very straightforward and they include a little tool to help clean the brush area. I recommend cleaning the machine well after a task - I think it would get gunked up otherwise. Also - I did notice some small tufts of carpet come up. It didn’t change the look of the rug, but I would take note of it depending on the quality of the carpeting - over time it might cause issues. I will report back if that is the case.

First of all! Waw! Worth the money, did an excellent job on our rugs and carpets. It was easy to assemble and use and not very loud compared to other cleaners. Highly recommend!

We got a new puppy, and accidents happen. Our house is half carpet and half hardwood. While the carpet is by no means great looking, we wanted to avoid creating spots that would attract more problems. Upon arrival, the machine was very easy to put together. Suction and drying seem to be exactly as advertised. Area and regular carpets are dry to the touch in 30 minutes. I did one of our area rugs, which as not been cleaned in 10 years. While I would not call the results amazing, or like new, I was happy with the results. Much nicer to look at now. I only gave 4 overall stars for two reasons. We have always had cats and dogs in the house, and it is amazing how much hair can be in a carpet and you not see it. I have a Dyson vac that I think does a great job, considering what I see in the catch bucket. But, when I cleaned with the Hoover, lots of balls of hair were showing up. They were not sucked up by the Hoover. They just kind of gathered up in golf ball sized clumps. Not a big deal, and some of the hair was being sucked into the machine. On the plus side, it WAS pulling the hair out of the carpet. The other reason was that the machine tends to dribble if it sits, turned off. Like, a tablespoon or two of liquid will be on the hardwood after 5 minutes of being off. So, be careful where you leave it, and be sure to take the bottle out if you are done. I keep the solution bottle filled, out of the machine, where I store it in the closet. When we have a mistake, it is easy to pull out, clean up, empty the catch container, and put away. Maybe 5 minutes for the whole process, which is a LOT better than getting on your hands and knees trying to sop the mess up with a towel. In summary, this is NOT a whole house rug cleaner. It could be, I guess, but there are better options for that. It IS an excellent spot cleaner. Light, easy to use, and effective. Update- 2 weeks later In the last 2 weeks, aside from cleaning mistakes, I have cleaned a 12x12 Area Rug, a 14x14 Herringbone (?) carpet in the computer room, and the plain short pile carpet in the bedroom. As I said earlier, this is not designed as a whole house rug cleaner. However, as I have learned, if you take a little time, and dont mind filling the bottle frequently, it does the same GREAT job on large carpets. Out bedroom was especially nasty. A few pet mistakes and 10 years worth of heavy traffic dirt and grime. I didnt move everything out, just worked around the bed and dressers. Probably a 14x14 area. Took about 6 bottles worth of mix (water and the small amount of cleaner, per instructions) and in the heavy traffic and mistakes area, I went over them and let them soak for 5 minutes, then went over them again. When the wife got home, she immediately noticed the difference, from the living room, 10 feet away. Wow, you did the carpet. It looks great! And, she was right. It does look great. Again, my only real complaint is how it handles hair. All those years of always having pets (3-4 pets) left a LOT of hair, and the Dyson didnt do as good a job of getting it all out as I thought it was. It looked hairless, but obviously not. The Hoover pulled out a softball sized glob of hair. Sometimes, clumps just came out as I was cleaning, the rest I had to rinse out of the brushes in the sink. Since the cleaner is so light, it is easy to just lift it over the kitchen sink and clean the brush out with the faucet. Sounds a lot worse than it really is, maybe 2 minutes to a clean brush. Then again, it IS pulling all that hair out. I can live with the cleaning the brushes aspect. So, for effectiveness, I would give 5+ stars. For the little quibbles about dribbles and cleaning, I only gave it 4 stars.

I bought this Hoover PowerDash Pet machine and was impressed. Firstly, I thought that my delivery would have taken a week, I got it within two days. Thanks Amazon. It is simple to assemble. It comes with a 6 ounce bottle of Hoover deep clean neutralizer. The key to using this is SLOW movement. It cleaned and sucked up the dirt. My rug was not dripping wet. I just finished cleaning about 15 minutes ago and it is nearly dry. The proof of all the dirt was in the dirty water container. I have a Bissell Little Green Clean Machine. It does well for spot treating, but at one point I was using it to clean the whole rug. Let’s just say my back wasn’t to happy about that. The first picture shows how dirty the carpet is. I have a dog and a cat. The second picture shows how clean it became. After I was finished cleaning, I took off the removable nozzle and rinsed it clean. I flipped up the machine, unscrewed the bottom and cleaned the brush head and surrounding area. There was soo much fur, but it was a breeze to clean. For the price, I paid $112 in total. I heard a lot of things about Hoover and wanted to try it out. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I cannot get over how dirty the water was! Such a good cleaner. Only down size, small tank. Had to empty it 2 or 3 times per room.

This machine exceeded my expectations. I have two indoor puppies that have run of the house. Shampooed three bedrooms, hallway and large living room in three hours. Vacuumed each room thoroughly, in two directions, beforehand. Shampooed each room, in two directions, and the amount of dog hair it pulled up was impressive! Now I think I need a better vacuum! Haha! It has a long cord, is light-weight and extremely easy to operate. My only complaint is I wish the clean water reservoir was larger. I did not rate with 5s because I never do. Everything and everyone has room for improvement.

This is the best pet stain cleaner. Very light weight, easy to assemble. Easy to use. Does the job quickly. I have had other cleaners that were heavy and awkward. I don’t use the stain cleaner that comes with it. It seems to leave a residue in the carpet. I only add Clear ammonia to the cleaning water and it does a perfect job. !!!!!

I dont have a long history with wet vacs for comparison. And I had hoped to find a handheld cat barf cleaner, which is a common occurrence around my house of three cats, 2 are seniors. Plus I have a toddler, need I say more? But after reading many reviews, I opted for this unit instead of a handheld. I put off putting it together for a week thinking it would be a pain in the butt to assemble, despite reviews saying that it was easy. That was a mistake in and of itself, as it is *extraordinarily* easy to put together and can be done and ready to use in 5 minutes or less. No tools required, no points of frustration. Because I put off putting it together, I had a couple of spots of cat barf sitting on my brand new carpet. I had spot treated them, but now the carpet was crispy where I had cleaned them manually. My eldest cat threw up again and I thought enough is enough, I need to put this thing together. I retreated the old spots and got them wet again with some vinegar and water. I cleaned up the old and new spots and confirmed with a black light flashlight that they were 100% clean. Let me repeat that, 100% clean! And the old spots were soft again once the carpet dried. This thing is saving my new carpet. Im about to sell my house so its critical that I have perfect carpet, as I spent good money to get good thick carpet and padding (before I knew I was selling). Could you clean your whole room? Oh yeah, definitely. You might have to refill the tank, but they built it in such a way its so easy to refill, AND8 clean, It would be no trouble at all to clean an entire room. It has separate clean and dirty water tanks. And you need very little concentrated cleaning fluid for the soap to water ratio. So even the sample that comes with it is enough to last a while, even though I went ahead and purchased a large container from the get-go. It will probably last me a lifetime. I almost wish my cats would pee on the carpet so I can test that, but lets not get crazy here. I do believe that this unit would clean up cat urine completely though. Its so thorough! You cant get your carpet clean without good suction, and this sucker has GREAT suction. The carpet is almost dry when the job is complete. And the carpet is completely dry within an hour, leaving it soft and like new again. I cant speak to it cleaning stairs, as I dont have any stairs in my home. I can imagine it might be a bit of a pain. But I think that stairs are going to be a pain no matter what unit you use. Theres no handheld attached, If thats something youre looking for. But it was excellent at cleaning right against the wall too. I was thinking about paying the super big bucks to get wood floors throughout my new home thats being built, for the sole reason that my senior cats throw up. Having this unit buys me peace of mind that I can get carpet in my bedrooms, which I prefer. This little lightweight unit will save me at least $10k, by opting for carpet in my bedrooms instead of wood, and having the peace of mind that I can clean any mess. Can you tell I love this unit yet? You will too. I havent had it long enough to speak to longevity. But it seems like a solid unit. I personally think the price point is appropriate too.
