> 3 dayI finally broke down and replaced my old 15.6 inch screen Asus laptop. This 14 inch screen sits a lot easier on my lap while I am in my recliner and work, play, or simply shop on-line. It loads up incredibly faster than the old one and is much easier to use. It does everything I wanted it to do and it doesnt freeze up or slowww down constantly. It stays cool while sitting on my lap and has excellent battery life. The old one would just about roast your acorns after a short time as it got very hot on the bottom. Highly recommend this laptop.

> 3 dayI purchased this unit to replace a model I bought several years earlier. We had been using it even after the plastic the lid hinges were attached to cracked, such that you had to leave the lid open or risk snapping it off.

Im gonna throw this out the window as soon as I get a desktop.

> 3 dayGot an awesome prime day deal on this. Its a great PC with good specs. Screen is bright. Overall quality is good. I did have to return due to the lack of a touchscreen. If you need a PC and dont need a touchscreen this is a good choice.

> 3 dayI grabbed this laptop as a cheap machine for some light web use, but mostly programming. As soon as i received this machine, naturally my first step was to cure the SSD of the disease that is Windows and installing a linux distro, more specifically i chose Kali. Then began the headaches. To make what was literally 14ish into a very short story, installing the needed drivers for this machine was a terrible experience. Honestly, after all the time i spent troubleshooting, a part of me wanted to keep this laptop, until i read that some of the issues are fixes I would need to correct every new version of Kali. Pass. Congrats to hp however, they managed to make linux complicated before even cracking open the terminal. If youre looking to install linux on this machine, and running scripts from a dozen different git repos doesnt sound all that appetizing, i suggest you select one of the thousands other everyday-use laptops at a similar price point.
