> 3 dayNot overly easy to connect to phone. Not overly easy to download photos using app on phone. If you don’t use it too often you can easily forget how to switch from photo to video modes and back. YouTube videos explaining use are few and not helpful. Company website with no instructions for troubleshooting. If you buy this use it a lot right away before loosing the packaging, because once it’s gone, you are stuck with a plastic thing that only makes noises.

> 3 dayTakes awhile to get used to taking photos without a viewfinder or screen. Picture quality is quite good, I was particularly impressed with underwater shots.

> 3 daySECOND UPDATE: Ive decided to keep it after all, having figured out a battery work-around. Camera wont function while connected to a computer, whether charging or transferring. To get around this, Ive got a 10,000 mAh external battery solar charger that I connect it to. With the external battery hanging from a belt loop and the Re connected to that via USB cable, the camera can still be used while charging. Another feature Id sorely like it to have: a physical on/off switch. While walking today, this damned camera turned itself on and took 260 photos of the inside of my pocket. The ONLY way to power off the camera is through the software app. A physical on/off switch somewhere on the camera itself would be very useful. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& UPDATE: Sending it back. The miserable battery life of this camera makes it unusable without a near constant charge, and that makes it pointless. I can only hope that the version 2.x is better w.r.t. both hardware and software. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& The camera itself is ok. I knew that it had limitations, but the form factor and size/weight were big considerations. Photos are good quality, but you have to know when to turn the wide-angle feature on/off. I am thoroughly disappointed, though, by the software implementation. (Have tried Android, havent yet tried iOS.) Things that should work, like files will transfer when you close the app dont. Settings like transfer only when charging turned on/off dont seem to have any effect. Setup, connection, and re-connection are slow and cumbersome. Biggest gripe: Failure of the app to use the SD card. I cant install nor move this app to the SD card, and when I do transfer photos via Bluetooth from the camera to my Android 5.x phone it sends them to a predefined folder in my internal memory. No option for me to change the folder at all! No option to redirect the photos/videos to the SD card! My Samsung S5 has 16 gb internal, 64 gb MicroSD card. I discovered this lack of necessary feature when my images quickly filled up my 16 gb internal memory. I will be keeping the camera and using work-arounds, like pulling images off the camera via USB cable to my Mac OSX. But, Im hoping that when the RE v. 2 comes out it comes with more reliable, more thoughtfully designed app.

> 3 dayI purchased this camera October 2017 for a vacation in Hawaii. I used it the entire time. great pictures and video. I even imported into iMovie. easy to use, I loved it. brought the RE to Hawaii trip March 2018. charged it up. then nothing. tried to reboot, called customer service. no help. RE company does not offer repairs nor do they warranty their product. come on, it is only a few months old! note: I followed all recommendations re care. I even bought the extra protection accessories to keep port dry. stay away from companies that do not back up their products!

> 3 dayI love that camera ! I got one as a present last year and its awesome! I m taking it snowboarding, kayaking, swimming , to the beach etc. It records in good quality and is easy to use. I love the slow motion option for video :)The only thing I didnt like is that when the battery is low and you are in the sun its hard to tell if you re recording or not cause you cant hear the click or see the little light. But even though I still love it. Already bough it for my 2 other friends,

> 3 dayEasy to operated but the wide angle make the photos a bit strange, the photos just like a convex mirror.

> 3 dayI bough two cams for my well planned trip.. 1st one was not working at all because of manufacturing defect and the shipment cost will not worth thr refund. 2nd camera which I used for my trip and I had a good use of it till when I tried it under water as the name RE waterproof, it broke and I lost every thing. I would not recommend this cam unless u wanna take the risk of losing all the memory. THANK YOU HTC RE Waterproof FOR RUINING MY Vacation

> 3 dayI got this for my daughter for a trip she was taking.. I picked it specifically so she and her friends would not do what kids typically do: take a pic or video, then stop everything to gather around the phone to watch the video they just took. I wanted her to enjoy the moment, not relive it two seconds later. Sadly, the cool factor of an iPhone and the social aspect of instantly sharing a pic or video with friends has relegated this camera to the junk drawer. It did make people ask her what it was, Kids kept asking her if it was an inhaler! the time lapse feature is fun. It has some other niche uses, just not an everyday shooter.
