Works well. The Magnetic extra hands are super strong and stay in place. You almost have to slide them along the heavy metal plate to reposition them.

I had purchased a smaller base from this company before. The smaller one worked great but I needed a bigger platform.

I purchased this 2 or 3 years ago - and most of the times when I try to use it Im greatly annoyed in how small the alligator clips are - AND THERE IS ONLY ONE SIZE. The clips are really made to hold something less than .25 inches thick - much larger than that and you have to really open the jaws (and thats not easy) - and now because of the steep angle of the jaws (for larger thicknesses) its not a secure connection. Want to hold something that .5 inches? Forget about it. The alligator clips (at least on the ones I received) feel very cheap - and the small rubber sleeves they put on to cover the teeth of those cheap over the counter alligator clips look like they would easily slide off. The vendor should at least provide an options for somewhat larger clips. The most important part of this entire device is where it fails. Absolute 100% garbage if you are trying to hold anything much more than a quarter of an inch. How this thing gets SO many favorable reviews and hardly any bad ones is one of lifes mysteries...

Overall very nice. Heavy and stable. Size is sort of small for a JUMBO product. Gripper clips feel a little cheap. Time will tell how durable they are.

Im so tired of those old little extra hands fragile 2 gator clip plus magnify glass tragedies. This thing is big, heavy, adjustable and STABLE. And now, since I like it so much, the only think I would like added to it is the option for some larger clips on the ends of the goose necks, because Im sure with those it could hold even some bigger items just where I want them. And, of course, that would have NEVER even been conceivable with those old little wobbly gizmos.

It arrived a few days ago and I have been using it every day. It works exactly as advertised. I have other helping hand stands for soldering, this one is over and above the best solution I have found.

For modelers of plastic model kits, the quad hands (extra large) provides for a sturdy platform for holding model parts for painting. It’s well constructed. The base is solid metal. The magnetic flex arms adhere solidly to the metal base. I purchased it for the purpose of holding models for painting in a spray paint/extraction booth. To be honest, I haven’t used it yet for actual painting, but I inserted it in my paint extraction booth , and it provided for a an extremely stable platform for securing plastic models. It is a well made platform.
