> 3 dayI can say that this is one item that was as easy to get working as anything else I have installed. The instructions were better than 98% of devices I use plug it in and it works - period. While it can be used then, Alexa will use the outlet number for reference. However, I prefer to assign a name to the device the outlet is controlling and that is a simple function also. I intend to buy several more of these for use in my house where there are a number of plugins and having them Alexa controlled would be a help.

> 3 dayI got this mainly to monitor power drain. Sure, some plugged-into-the-wall devices work to that end, but either you have to scooch down to the outlet to see it, or put it on an extension cord and then its still far too unwieldy. With this, you can just open the Kasa app and see what the wattage is real time, plus see kWh of daily and long term use. Thats just nice. Also just having the switches there on the strip to turn items on and off individually is great. Especially good if you have a computer you like to put into hibernate. The lightest wind gust against the mouse and its right back on again. Not anymore! Heh heh. My only real complaint is that, like a lot of smart devices like (scales, lightbulbs, etc.), it only uses 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. Fine if youre in a house surrounded by nothing, but if youre in an apartment, hoo boy, better make sure youre not sharing WiFi channels with anyone. Theres tools for monitoring whos using what nearby, and as long as you use your own router, changing those settings are easy. Still, idk why they cant use 5GHz. Why do some devices do that? Why do so many still use Micro-B USB plugs/ports? Other than that, I have no complains. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI wanted something that works with smart life. Not that I have anything particular against Kasa, and the only reason I even got THIS one was because I still have a few smart plugs that use the Kasa app. I just got rid of all the proprietary devices that needed their own app since it was such a pain to have half a dozen different programs. Im at the point now where if something isnt controllable via the Smart Life app, I wont buy it. Of course, then came the need for a new 6 plug controllable strip behind a stand where my 120 floor rising projector screen sits, to control my new screen, the new UST projector, a couple subwoofers, etc... This one arrived quick enough, and worked out of the box. Im not a fan of having to connect to the programs wireless to get it seen by the app, but at least it works consistently. I prefer apps that find their devices without going through that step. Each switch came up as its own addressable device, and the integration with Alexa was fine as I already had it set up for the existing Kasa plugs I still use that I havent replaced yet. No issues with the voice control now. Well constructed, solid, no noise of anything rattling around inside like some of the cheaper ones have. I just wish it wasnt quite so pricey, but you get what you pay for and I wanted something that I could trust would work for more than a week or two. My Kasa devices have proven to be very reliable so far so I expect no less from this.

> 3 dayI use these ALOT. I have no issues so Im not going to detail the obvious. Read other review for the obvious stuff. My review is going to list what I think could be improvements. First the APP is good but not if you have multiple homes. Everything is listed in a single list. So if you have 3 of these you have a long list (3x6) in order to get to what you want to control. The APP supports groups of things to control all at the same time but not segmented by location. Secondly, as a network technician I would love a rack mount version of this device. It makes it hard to have a nice clean install with this thing haphazardly strapped up or hanging down. :Lastly the tiny mounting holes in the back of the unit as too weak to hold all the power cords plugged into this unit. How about some front mount holes with some heft? Just my opinion. I hope TP-Link reads this review and takes some action.

> 3 dayUpdate 1-2-2021: Well it seems I made an error in my original review. If you do change your wifi name or password you can re-connect the device without loosing all your settings. The key is to not select reset device when re-connecting it, which is what i did. Then it will go straight to the wifi setup section without loosing names or schedules. However this isnt mentioned anywhere in the manual (which is just a little card telling you to use the app). I had to get the information from users at the Kasa forum and it took a while to find. So Im uping my rating, but still docking 1 star for this to not be documented in the user guide or app. Original Review: I liked this thing so much that I bought another one. They were both super easy to set up and the app works great to controll each outlet individually and create schedules to help save energy. The plugs are spaced far apart enough to be able to plug in USB power supplies and other wall warts without covering an adjacent outlet. Overall the thing is great and I would have given it 5 stars easily. And now for the bad, and I mean really bad! I routinely change my wifi password about once a month as recommended by security experts. This is where it completely fails. The app has no place to change this. Not even in the settings for the device. Their support says I have to reset it to factory settings and set it up again! This is a major failure. So now I have to setup 12 outlets again with names and schedules. I was going to buy a couple more of these, but now forget it. 12 outlets is enough to have to redo every month. Unless TP-Link pushes out a firmware or app update to correct this horrible oversight I wont be getting any more. Thats why I only gave it 3 stars. When and if they fix this issue it becomes a 5 srar product.

> 3 daySo far its been great. Does exactly what is supposed to and setup was simple. I love how you can control each outlet and it has power monitoring. Wish the app was better for routines/skills but it does exactly what I need it to so oh well. I can control it through Alexa and so far no weirdness there. I havent tried the USB ports but Im glad they are there. The cord is a good length and I already had some kasa products so I was used to the features. The app is really simple though. That is both a good thing, for newbies and a not so great thing for power-users. Im already looking at other kasa products so Id definitely recommend this to others.
