I bought this power strip for my aquarium and Im glad that I did. It makes aquarium maintenance very easy. I can press the power button next to the plug that I want to turn off/on as needed. I also really like being able to schedule when some items (lights) are on. I liked it so much, I bought another one. The only downside is if an item is on a schedule, you cannot use its own power button to turn it on/off. For example I have my aquarium lights on a schedule. Sometimes I want to take a look in the aquarium for some reason while the lights are off according to the schedule. When I press the power button on the lights to turn them on nothing happens. I have to use the app to turn on the light. Its not that big of a deal, but something you should be aware of. Lastly, I wish I could get a bigger version of this strip.

I love and own many tplink devices (cameras, door bells, lightbulbs, smart plugs and smart strip). Had only one issue that their self-help support couldn’t resolve. Turns out a factory reset fixed it. Can’t imagine i am the only one that would benefit from that simple suggestion. So, if anything isn’t working right, reset it. My issue was scheduled on or off never worked. Using the on off button on demand- no problem. Using the timer - no problem. Only schedules failed. All plugs all ports on any outlet. Weird huh? I even did the “have you turned it on and off again (unplugging from wall) no help. No clue why all features via the software/app worked except for schedules. You could set up a schedule, It would show it would be the next thing to run but would never actually control any outlet. Its great as a support for growing my tomatoes and other herbs and veg from seed, controlling the heat mats and lights independently.

The product works as expected. I connected it with Google Assistant and I am quite please. Although, as an Apple user, I notice there isnt Apple Homekit Integration. That is not surprising since that feature is pretty underdeveloped and lacking with partners. The application is easy and intuitive. I set it up quite easily. Mostly I use it for my light, computer screens, aroma diffuser and heater. Probably will replace it with a fan in the winter. All things I want to automate around my desk. Cannot do much. Just Screen off, Lights On (doesnt actually turn on because my desk lamps require a press for first use), Lights Off (thats nice when I am tired.) and heater On/Off. This can be a fan in the summer. Thoughts on Application/Smart Devices: It seems they want to add feature to the app but havent quite gotten to it. I dont know if they ever will. In my humble opinion, I am a bit worried for the future if the apple will be maintained. For now, support seems great but down the line, you have to remember this is an appliance with a long product life. Unlike physical products, application have a short life. Although it is a worry, that is a risk you take with all smart devices.

I got this mainly to monitor power drain. Sure, some plugged-into-the-wall devices work to that end, but either you have to scooch down to the outlet to see it, or put it on an extension cord and then its still far too unwieldy. With this, you can just open the Kasa app and see what the wattage is real time, plus see kWh of daily and long term use. Thats just nice. Also just having the switches there on the strip to turn items on and off individually is great. Especially good if you have a computer you like to put into hibernate. The lightest wind gust against the mouse and its right back on again. Not anymore! Heh heh. My only real complaint is that, like a lot of smart devices like (scales, lightbulbs, etc.), it only uses 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. Fine if youre in a house surrounded by nothing, but if youre in an apartment, hoo boy, better make sure youre not sharing WiFi channels with anyone. Theres tools for monitoring whos using what nearby, and as long as you use your own router, changing those settings are easy. Still, idk why they cant use 5GHz. Why do some devices do that? Why do so many still use Micro-B USB plugs/ports? Other than that, I have no complains. Highly recommend.

really like this power strip - this is the third one ive gotten for the apartment. I use it with google home to control lots of things by voice/app. bought the first one for the living room to use with the lights. appreciate the usb ports to have phone chargers threaded through to the couch. liked it enough that we bought a second one for the dining room. appreciate it both for the convenience and for power saving. especially helpful bc our house is older and doesnt have a ton of outlets.

Update 1-2-2021: Well it seems I made an error in my original review. If you do change your wifi name or password you can re-connect the device without loosing all your settings. The key is to not select reset device when re-connecting it, which is what i did. Then it will go straight to the wifi setup section without loosing names or schedules. However this isnt mentioned anywhere in the manual (which is just a little card telling you to use the app). I had to get the information from users at the Kasa forum and it took a while to find. So Im uping my rating, but still docking 1 star for this to not be documented in the user guide or app. Original Review: I liked this thing so much that I bought another one. They were both super easy to set up and the app works great to controll each outlet individually and create schedules to help save energy. The plugs are spaced far apart enough to be able to plug in USB power supplies and other wall warts without covering an adjacent outlet. Overall the thing is great and I would have given it 5 stars easily. And now for the bad, and I mean really bad! I routinely change my wifi password about once a month as recommended by security experts. This is where it completely fails. The app has no place to change this. Not even in the settings for the device. Their support says I have to reset it to factory settings and set it up again! This is a major failure. So now I have to setup 12 outlets again with names and schedules. I was going to buy a couple more of these, but now forget it. 12 outlets is enough to have to redo every month. Unless TP-Link pushes out a firmware or app update to correct this horrible oversight I wont be getting any more. Thats why I only gave it 3 stars. When and if they fix this issue it becomes a 5 srar product.

I have many of these power strips they work great. Although sometimes with power surges they end up off the wifi when the power returns. Overall I really enjoy having these power strips.

Didn’t realize it had a built in schedule function. Great for aquarium hobbyists.

This my second of these to own. I have had it about a year. One of the things I love is the ability to monitor energy usage of the devices plugged. One monitors my Television, Satellite TV and a few small electronics. I have the other one on several battery chargers for my regular batteries and the batteries for my power tools. I have each plug socket on a schedule to only come on during the night when power costs are lower and only to run for a small amount of time per day. My batteries are always charged and I use less power to keep them fresh. The app is also really well designed. You can turn devices on or off manually from the app or look at the power consumption for the day, week, or month. It has never failed to stay connected to my wifi or to respond immediately to the app. I dont use home voice controls so I dont know about that.

I mainly purchased this because of how many socket it has and it has watt usage tracking for every socket. So the app will tell you how many watt each socket is pulling. Only downside is that the USB port doesnt provide and wattage and the ability to turn the socket off/on. It works great with Google/Alexa as well. One thing very important to me is the accuracy of the wattage it provides and it seems to be in line with my wattage meter so accuracy is not a problem. Overall really good product, would be better if I can control the the USB port and provides usage.
