So the bag itself is a gift. Love the brand. However, it was shipoed in a CLEAR plastic bag. I am really glad someone other than the person it was for was here to bring it in off the porch.

I just LOVE this bag! It is such a great travel bag. I most recently used it on a day trip to Fukuoka, Japan and another weekend trip to Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan. IT was perfect. Fit my little wristlet wallet/purse, solar charger, iPhone, some wipes, diapers, and a few other random items. There was still plenty of room for more things! It was so convenient to have a one shoulder bag to just slide around from back to front when I needed to access one of the pockets. The bag is very comfortable to wear. The fabric and craftsmanship seem high quality. Highly recommend. Going on another vacation in a few days and I cant wait to use it for more travel!

I wish I could give this bag 6 stars. I am going on a trip soon and bought it for my carry-on and travel bag. I havent left for the trip yet but Im finding excuses to put stuff in it just to transport it from one room to another (slight exaggeration). But in all seriousness, the pocket sizes are perfect, the material is durable and beautiful, the rope strap is super awesome and adds some flare. Just in case its too much work to pull it over your head, the handy buckle makes me feel cooler just snapping it. One day I transported a ton of books in it. The next day I had to carry clothes with me... Regardless of what you put in it, it holds a nice shape. Its comfortable and perfectly sized. I think my favorite part is that it stays out of the way like a backpack, but when you need something out of it, its super convenient to just slip it in front of you and unzip it. I would recommend this bag to anyone who has anything to carry. :)

It came in very new and was in a really good condition. Not to mention, it came really fast too (I opted for the express international shipping, really worth the money). The bag really is as good as it was advertised to be. Its sturdy and the inside is spacious enough for me to dump all of my necessities in without much difficulty (500ml bottle, umbrella, a 500 page book, long wallet yada yada yada). Its really good for travelling and those who prefer to carry light when they go out and about. Its compact, feels snug on the back and its very easy to access (just sling the bag to your front and voila, you can reach all of the different compartments without having to remove the bag from your body). I find this last feature especially useful in crowded places because I like to be able to see my bag in front of me and know that it is safe from intruders, if you know what I mean. Overall, I am really satisfied with my Kavu rope bag. Might be getting myself another one soooooooooooooooon~ But just a note of precaution to the people who are considering to buy this - the colours of the bag as shown in the pictures does not 100% reflect the actual colour of the bag in real life (I bought the Gold one thinking that it was gonna be in a darker shade but it turned out to be a teeeeeeny bit brighter than what I originally had in mind T________T BUT OH WELL~ Its all good now).

I bought this for a trip and it worked perfectly. It held my wallet, phone, water bottle, umbrella and snacks perfectly. It is well made and I will be getting a lot of good use out of it.

love the bag, it holds a lot more than it looks like it should! The Chestnut color is a bit different in person; on my monitor it appears a light pinkish-tan with aqua-green lining; in person, its more of a violet-grey-brown mix, darker and cooler toned than the photo shows, with a blue lining. Its still a lovely color, in fact its more my taste than the photo, but those wanting exactly the color they see should know that its not a very accurate representation. The design of the bag is nice; the two big pockets hold quite a lot (Ive fit my DSLR and lens into the larger pocket with some wiggle room), though I wouldnt recommend filling this bag with big or bulky things as it will hang awkwardly and get uncomfortable very quickly. Ideal for women on the go--I wear it cycling everywhere as my purse. It can cause a bit of a divide-a-boob look in ladies that are a bit, ah, better endowed, because of the seatbelt-style strap. Overall, the bag is very practical and simple and fun to use and wear, and has a very specific outdoorsy/adventurous aesthetic to it.

Update: 1/14/2017: I had called Kavu about the stitching coming apart in the top pocket--they said since I bought it from Amazon, the only thing I can do is ship it back to them, at my own expense, but it may not be worth it--so they suggested that I either take it to someone locally to repair it, or they would give me 50% off on a new one. That did not seem satisfactory. I tried to fix it myself, but I am no seamstress, and was not able to do it correctly--the big problem is that there is an inside lining--which to take apart would be a big job. So I only sewed the end, to prevent further unraveling. While at it, I noticed that the Velco closure piece on the pocket cover was sewed on lopsided. Poor quality control. Please see the pictures and my crude attempt. I will have to go to a professional to fix it--wonder how much they would charge. When I first got it at REI, that one had some stitches missing, so I returned it and got one from Amazon, which was same but cheaper in price. Little did I know that this one would have a problem too. They certainly do not stand behind their products adequately--other companies would send you a new one at their expense, and give a label for return of the old one, or abandon it. Update: 12/15/2016 The stitching of the cover of the top pouch, right under the KAVU logo, has come apart and is starting to unravel--I store something in this pouch but hardly ever remove the contents, so it is not like I undo the cover a lot or move it. I will see if it can be fixed; Ive not done stitching before; dont know how to do it since there is a lining.. Having used it for about six months, I can say the vertical zippers are awkward and that it does not hold much. Cute design, but not that practical. Down grading to 3 stars because the stitching is coming apart. >>>> Good comfortable bag, but not sure I like the up and down zippers--very easy to have them unzipped and not realize. Does not hold too much. But well made. Could use more smaller pockets but bigger in size. A good bag, glad I have it, but not super.

Took this bag on vacation and it was just what I wanted. Very comfortable and I loved that I could just swing the bag around to grab what I needed without taking it off. Great for everyday or for traveling!
