> 3 dayThis is exactly as advertised. YES, you can go out and buy this for a cheaper price. However, not everybody has access to this source. With that being said, I own two chinchillas and was worried that theyd overheat in the summertime. They are in a well shaded area, in an air conditioned house, however, you cant be too safe when it comes to taking care of your pet(s). Word of advice: Chill them in your refrigerator beforehand for an hour or so. Itll keep them nice and cool! It works great and my little furry friends seem to love it. Im satisfied with my buy.

> 3 dayIf you have a Chinchilla, you need one of these cool pads. We have shared our lives with Chinchillas for over 11 years. Snubbles, our first Chin, came to live with us when he was 8, and he got one of these his first summer with us. Temps were getting up over 100, and even though we have air conditioning, Snubbles was looking a little lethargic, and this cool pad did the trick for him. Eddie came to live with us the next year, at age 3 and will be 14 in October. We got him a Chinchilla Chiller right away. Snubbles loved his and spent most of the day sleeping and chillin out on it, even in winter. Eddie is a bit more diffident about his cool pad. Mostly he pees on it. Thats okay, because these are washable. Basically they are a slab of granite colored Corian countertop material. Pee can be scrubbed off. The only thing in a Chinchilla cage that could actually stain them is rust, but you can sand that off if you feel you need to. Most Chinchillas are like Snubbles, and love these. Even if your Chin is like Eddie, and doesnt spend much time on it, you still need to get one. Chinchillas evolved in the cool temperatures of the mountains of Peru. They can not handle heat at all. They can die very quickly if they get overheated. They need to have one of these cool pads in the cage especially in the summertime so they can cool down quickly if they need to. In my experience, you do not need to pop this in the freezer. It is a stone-like material and is naturally cooler than room temperature. Get one. Your Chinchilla will thank you for it.
