> 3 dayI bought this at Petsmart for relatively the same price. I live in Las Vegas and summers are absolutely brutal here, some days can get to 113+. So I thought this would make me worry less about the heat, as it is wayyy too expensive to keep the thermostat at anything lower than 72 in Vegas. I give it 3 stars because my Chin doesnt really seem to care about it. I even put a crunch log, that connects to the cage, above it to give him a reason to sit there, and he does, but only to chew on the log. I also freeze it from time to time to see if he likes it really cold. I thought he would love to escape the heat on a cool marble slab but he really could care less. Great idea, I guess I just have a weird chinchilla.

> 3 dayMy rats love it. I got two and put them in the fridge for a few minutes when it’s extra hot and they all pile up on the stones in minutes

> 3 dayDisclosure: I own 4 of these and have 6 chinchillas. Its decent when chilled in the freezer on summer days, although none of mine seem to actively prefer it unless its really hot. My only issue is price. The chin chiller is expensive, and very small. I can get cheap tiles at Home Depot/Lowes and have them cut it smaller if I want. You can get granite tiles just as cheap. (Admittedly, mine like the bigger tile tiles, not caring for the granite). The chin chiller will do its job for a single chinchilla when chilled.

> 3 dayThe Kaytee Chinchilla Chiller Granite Stone is not limited to to Chinchillas, but most small animals will like this. I currently have three fancy rats and the weather hasnt been too hot (~90 outside, ~74 inside), so its a little hard to say if they love it or not. Aside from its intentional purpose, this granite stone is also great to just keep fleece down in the cage. I line my rats cage with fleece and sometimes they like to pull the fleece up and it becomes a mess, so this stone is great to hold it down because its heavy and theyre unable to pull the fleece out from underneath.

> 3 day1-Go to a hardware store. 2-Buy a 12 marble or granite floor or wall tile for a fraction of the cost. Profit. We have 6 chinchillas and we keep a few marble floor tiles in the freezer just in case theyre necessary, along with ones that stay in the cages. We also give them terra cotta flower pots for the same purpose. Both are far less expensive alternatives than the chinchilla chiller.
