Using this for my guinea pig. Its a very low heat but she likes it. I bought the cover because I didnt have anything appropriate to put over it. The cover is very thin but soft. I dont sew so Im happy to spend $6 on it. The heating pad is hard and easy to clean. She hasnt attempted to chew on any part of it so I cant speak to. I had one of these a long time ago and it lasted forever.

Love that its ready to use right out of the box. But my bun figured out how to pull the cord into the cage and chewed it up. But they were very kind and sent me a new one. I have rigged it to where she cant pull the cord in or even get to it when out by using an x pen.

Got this for our outdoor cat house that we made out of a large rubbermaid container. We cut a dome notch out of the front for our kitty to get in and out. Filled with blankets for warmth. It was getting colder outside and I felt bad for her....so I purchased this heater. She loves it and stays in her house during the day sometimes just cause it feels nice. Its stays warm like a laptop or computer tower does, but not hot. Perfect for what we needed.

Excellent for any type of small animal. We have 2 one for our Degu, they have never been able to chew thru any part of it. I have a home sewn pillow case over it as well. The cord is sleel wrapped. Also excellent for our outdoor cat. We’ve tried to get and keep out cat indoors but he refuses unless it’s 20 degrees or colder, then he’s happy to come in and snuggle us. We have the cats heat pad inside an insulated cat tent also purchased and kept inside our garage. Likes are it’s safe and simple to clean. Ours are very hard plastic covered. Steel wrapped power cord. Heat is perfect temperature. Low power usage. But best of all our animals love them :) if their happy, we’re happy :) Best solution ever invented for small animals we worry about getting cold.

This heater works great our rabbit loves it and it helped with the low temps at night.

We got this for our cat, that lives outdoors....I built a small house for her, and now She can stay dry and warm.....my cat is very pleased with this purchase. Should last for years with minimal care

Our cat sleeps in a shed at night. Shes getting older, and we feel badly when its below zero (sometimes -20F). We keep this in the shed inside a cat-carrier that has had its door removed and is covered by insulation. Kitty seems to like it, and even jumps in there at times when the shed door is open during the day.

I’m glad this doesn’t shut off like some other warning pads out there. It’s not soft and cushy, but the plastic makes it easy to wipe down. Very thin and easily fits in the cages. We bought 3. The hedgehog loves hers, as do the rats and even our chicks like it. No complaints.
