Klipsch RP-450C Center Channel Speaker - Ebony

Absolutely love this center speaker. Truly enhanced my surround sound.

This center speaker brought movies, sports, and music to a whole new level. The center channel is the most important piece to your home theater system, and investing in one such as this was worth every penny. Vocals and sound effects are crystal clear! Bass is rich and the front stage of my setup is much more realistic. If you want a center that not only looks beautiful, but sounds just as well, get this Klipsch. You will not regret the investment.

The speaker sounds great! It was larger than I realized and fit in the location I planned was marginal. Fortunately, I had another place to put it and am totally happy. In addition to being fairly large, particularly in terms of depth, the speaker is quite heavy. In order to be certain that the speaker wouldnt fall off the wall, I ended up purchasing mounting brackets on which the speakers rests. These are in addition to a hook-type of mounting bracket that ensures that the speaker cant slide off the underside brackets (I live in earthquake country). A seven foot fall to the floor would be catastrophic!

Generally it looks like a quality build. However, Im sending this back as the horn distorts reproducing a womans voice or piano notes. It does so at all volume levels. I bought a replacement from Crutchfield and its doing the same thing. It seems to be nominally related to the source material. With high quality CDs such as those from Sheffield or Concord Jazz, the buzz/rasp/crackle is far less. Nevertheless is is there. Its absent in the horn tweeters on the main Klipsch speakers and the height speakers of my 7.2 Denon driven system. Im a little disappointed and will be calling Klipsch.

For several years, I had trouble listening to dialog using my older, much smaller Center Channel. My entertainment room has a high ceiling, and is part of open concept area. I researched Center channels for months, reading many many reviews. I waited about 6 months for this speaker to go on sale. Glad I bought and glad I waited for sale. So much enjoyable listening to dialog in movies especially, when soft spoken or background noise. Wife loves functionality but complained it has large footprint on top of her media center under TV. Highly recommend.

Its a lot larger than you think it would be. I had to build a box on the ceiling to hold it above the wall mounted tv. It produces very loud and clear sound and in a dolby surround setup its a must have.

I love music and this made a hell of a difference.
