> 3 dayThese paints are so pretty. Each color is unique when painted and not just the same looking shimmering blob. I had a difficult time getting the box open initially trying not to tear it but I’ll be trimming the tabs to prevent that in the future. I wish these came in a proper case but they work just fine this way. I tend to be very messy so I worry about messing up the cardboard with too much water, but hopefully it lasts!

17-11-2024The paper packaging was not sturdy enough. The individual colors keep falling out of the paper case.

Greater than one weekWhat a beautiful set of shimmery foiled colors ranging from an ice white to a deep gold. You do need to play with them a bit because based on how much you work the color up with water, you can get a sheer look or a deeper opaque one. Stunning any way you use it. I am not a painter so I know people will compare them to more professional brands but I am pleased and the price point to output is acceptable. I don’t think anyone would be displeased with these in their stash.

> 3 dayNice product! Worked well for my hand made holiday cards. It is pretty sheer at first but i was able to make it thicker. Only disappointment is that it is not in a metal or plastic storage container but I might have missed that in the description. I’ll just keep it in the packaging for storage.

Greater than one weekFor the price I was surprised the pans were only in cardboard. To store the paints they must be slid into the box. The paint needs to be fairly wet to get a smooth coat. They keep a nice shimmer when dry and can be used on white paper. I ran a thick band over some watercolors I was swatching out. The pearl color showed up letting the color of the dried paint come through.

Greater than one weekFor under $10 these metallic watercolors are amazing. I recently used this set in my very first floral watercolor piece and they worked wonderfully for what I had intended. A little bit of water and once you work your brush into the pan the magic begins. If youre not careful with how you lay down the pigment it can be a little bit patchy in areas, but nothing a second pass over wont remedy. My only gripe is that the pans seem less than half full, but in reality, you get what you pay for. The Finetec metallics in the metal tin are higher in quality and more opaque, but this Kuratake Starry set is a great starter into metallic watercolors.

> 3 dayDarker shades are pretty opaque and the lighter ones are sheer, both are good and serve a purpose! I am very satisfied with their performance and value.
