This Lacdo version has padding, but it is too snug for the Western Digital 2TB Passport which is what I bought it for. So I had to swap it out for one of my 1TB drives. The construction of the Lacdo seems cheap, at least in comparison to the Amazon version. For example the lanyard does not open smoothly.But if you are not a believer, buy both (the Lacdo and the Amazon) and compare for yourself. The waterproof feature seems attractive at first, but in hind sight, if your hard drive drive is near copious amounts of water...it seems that you would have other more serious problems to worry about.

Truly solid case and would have received a 5 if not that the zipper got torn as I unpackaged it. Whats the use of a case if it cant be shut?

Great case, it fits like a glove. If your buying the WD Elements Portable External Hard Drive, then you gotta buy this case... You have to... Youll be really sorry if you dont! That little hard drive will slip off the table, hit the floor and bye bye. This case will prevent that from happening!
