Excellent kit!! Well organized, great instructions, fun to build—and it works when you’re finished!! These kits are how my nine year-old granddaughter learned to solder. She learned quickly and just finished building an AM/FM radio. Many thanks to Rocket Dept for their great, confidence-building kits.

This is my second kit from this company. Both have been a real hit with my son. And once the learning is done with the soldering, you get to see just how many colors you can create with a mix of red, green, and blue. My wife found the latter fascinating as well. My only complaint is that there arent more kits like this. Ive found some more advanced ones, but these very simple starter kits are hard to come by.

I know nothing about soldering but my 11 year-old was interested in learning. I got them a soldering iron kit and this soldering project. The board has been thoughtfully designed and the instructions (pdf provided online) are clearly and well written. My kiddo did a bit of additional research on proper soldering technique and then dove in. I simply sat and watched for safety. It was a great triumph when the final pad was soldered, the switch flipped, and the LED lit up! It was a really fun skill and esteem-building exercise. Highly recommended. Thanks to the designers.

I bought two of these: one for me, and one for my daughter. (My son got Blink) It was wonderful. I just wanted to get a taste of what its like to build a little circuit. Id never done any soldering and so this kit was just the ticket. My daughter is 12. The kit was challenging, but do-able. And in the end we had these fun little toys that we can show off! This will make a great gift for your kids or for anyone who likes to tinker! The photo is of my son working on his kit.

Everything fits and works perfectly. Great solder kit, for beginners and beyond. My seven-year-old loved it.

It is pretty and introduces some interesting electronics concepts; the RGB LED and potentiometers. What I regret about the kit is the cost, given the simplicity of assembly. My child completed the soldering very quickly. In retrospect this did not feel like good value for money, compared to the Elenco kit.

Great christmas present for engineering student.

Bought this for my niece last year and she continues to use it - works well and is decent quality. Would recommend to novice or young person.
