This was cute and fun and really helped me get over my fear of just getting into soldering! Quick and easy and the tutorial online is straightfoward and explains the components in a simplistic way. I feel confident after trying this one thing to pursue the projects I was meaning to work on, but I think I would probably get the other ones just to make fun little trinkets.

As expected the team at Rocket dept lives up to their first kit. My 7yr old son put this together with minimal supervision and this is only his 3rd soldering kit, the 1st being the blink kit. The parts are simple, easy to understand where they go, and spacing on the board is perfect for little hands. PCB quality is excellent with gold pads allowing easy solder reflow even on the ground. Kit works as promised and Ill keep buying these kits. My kid always asks Whens the next Rocket Department kit coming?

Superior PCB. Very easy to solder good connections. Apply the soldering iron to a lead and pad, count to three, apply solder.

Ive soldering dozens of kits. What makes this one fun is the playability of the finished product. Its super easy to assemble & solder. The website instructions are clear. And the finished circuit is quite useful because mixing LED colors is not so intuitive: this kit really helps.

This was a great kit for beginners. The recommended soldering temps seem a little high but other than that the kit seems perfect.

Bought this for my niece last year and she continues to use it - works well and is decent quality. Would recommend to novice or young person.

Ive put together many color oriented kits but this leaves them far behind! It took me about 10 min to assemble, I love that it uses a coin cell and manually mixing RGB via potentiometers is fun and educational!
