LEGO City Rover Testing Drive 60225 Building Kit (202 Pieces)

My son loved this and put it together in 15 mins.

This was a small set that was easy to put together, while the instructions were in two books there wasnt anything that the 5 year old had issues with. They do show a couple pictures of the rover that inspired the kit at the back of one of the books (would have like a couple pages of info about real life rovers to make it a toy to get kids interested in engineering with space applications/robotics). The canopy and a control panel are tampod vs having stickers, the laptop, the solar panels and a case all get stickers. The geode has a purple clear fill that has some light holes with a little back light they will glow, there is a rubber band that comes on the claw to add light snapping action (that might be hard to find replacement if it breaks or rots time will have to tell on this).

It was a gift to my grandchildren

My son and grandkids love most any of the Lego kits, but my daughter in law who has an engineering degree loves those Lego sets associated with space and NASA so this one was specifically for her, though I am sure the grandchildren will help her with it, too! My son and daughter in law love these Lego kits so much that they have several bookcases in their house dedicated to displaying these finished kits. Its a hobby - one that lets them interact as a family and thats a good thing!

This is a great set for the budding Astronaut you may be raising. A great rover set, reminiscent of the Rover from The Martian. The set is fairly simple to build, and includes some great details like a breakable rock that has a geode or crystal feel to it. Couple this rover with any other space set, and you will have the perfect setup to enjoy hours exploring the planets!

There are two main plastic bags in this kit, and the assembly goes pretty fast — our 6 year old completed it in about an hour without any adult help. This is actually more cool looking in person. Here are a couple photos on top of garden lava rocks, our simulated Mars rocks. The pincher grip uses a little rubber band to hold tension on the claws.

My son loves this and built it by himself.
