Got this for my 7 year old god daughter as a Christmas present. She loves Frozen, and we had fun building another LEGO set this sumner. This combines both into a just the perfect gift. I started doing LEGO and board games with my godson and goddaughter this summer, to get them away from their iPads and video games. It’s a great way for the family and friends to gather, have fun and actually talk to each other. With the LEGO sets, the 7 and 11 year old can both follow directions in the booklets and work on most of the building by themselves. Can’t wait for her to see this next month. Will update with more pictures once we get building :) Update 1/16/2020: the castle has been completed, new photos attached. My god daughter set it next to a bunch of stuffed animals (puppies) so they could guard the castle.

I believe my own personal favorite feature with this set is the quilt that lifts up on the bed. I’ve never seen that before, but what a great idea. You can put them to bed and actually cover them up. Fantastic detailing on the characters. This is an indoor toy in my opinion. In my experience, the paint doesn’t weather well. We’ve had some sets left out on the back porch by the grandchildren. A very sturdy set overall and the blocks stay secure. Two of my grandchildren are huge fans and run right for the LEGO sets when they visit granny. They keep them entertained for hours and I love the conversations they have with the characters. They are also too busy and entertained to fight. We call our LEGO sets the ‘peacekeepers’. There are a lot of parts with this set but it’s not overly complicated. Not for toddlers or younger of course, unless there is very close supervision. It has a good height but still not a storage problem. A fantastic imagination enhancer. Great paint job and overall craftsmanship. I also love that the furnishings can be moved around. The children can build their own unique settings.

This is an incredible Lego set, especially for the price. The pieces are wonderfully detailed and colorful. Many parts seem much more rounded than most Lego sets I have seen in the past. Im not sure if this is a new direction that Lego is moving in or a one-off, but the characters especially are a move away from their usual, blocky designs. The main building is a lot more traditional with the square interchangeable pieces that most Lego builders are used to. It gives you plenty of parts to combine with other sets to make into your own creations. As with all other Lego sets I can recall the assembly sheet is incredibly easy to follow. The parts are all carefully pre-packaged with no parts missing or misplaced. All of the pieces interlock perfectly and they are still insanely painful to step on! This is another Lego set that is worth far more in fun-to-dollars ration than most toys you will find anywhere. The price is also a great deal for a set of this size.

My grandaughter and her Dad had lots of fun putting this together. Good use of reasoning and hand-eye coordination and hours of imaginative play. Like all LEGO, it’s pricy, but the kids love them.

It is challenging. There were so many tiny pieces.

Wasn’t quite as big as expected for the money. But of course it’s Lego so high quality and at the same time over priced.

So on the plus side, you get updated clothes on the Anna and Elsa mini dolls, and a Kristoff (not sure if hes ever been in a set before, we didnt have him). Id prefer these be regular lego style rather than in the Friends theme but thats true of almost all of the Princess sets. I dont think this build is as intricate or cool as the Frozen 1 themed castle that was just re-released but still pretty cool. Its also a little bit fragile. Builds used to be better with baseboards but I guess they were harder to display or something. It took me about an hour to build while my 4 year old played with the mini dolls and boat and stuff you build in the early steps. There are some cool things included, including a pretzel, and a bunch of stickered pieces. Like pretty much everyone else thinks, itd be better if the pieces just came printed instead of requiring stickering but so be it. Youre pretty much buying this for the updated dresses but your kids will have fun playing with it until they break it. :)
