Defective. My PC was only getting 10 Mbps speed. Only after I replaced this defective jack, my network speeds reached the expected 200 Mbps.

Theyve been a rock solid performer, in my own personal home, for over 10 years now...I finally ran out, and with the experience Ive had using them, it was literally a no brainer on what product I was going to use.

The price keeps going up, but what can a person do? Ive installed a lot of these adapters in our house.

I have a fancy punch down tool, tester, all that. Could not get these to connect fully I could get 5 or 6 of the 8 to test good. Some fiddling and I could get a couple more, but could not get one to fully connect all 8 points. Maybe its the cable I have, but I doubt it. I think the root cause it the IDC blades are not sharp. If you hit them more than a couple times, they just spread apart and are done. Maybe there is a way to get them to work. I found some modular couplers so plugs front and back and that will work for the 20 or so I need. I have a crimp tool for the plugs and have never had an issue with the IDC on that end.

Look no further, this is the easiest connector to use, with color coding for the cat5e cable. Install was quick and easy. I recommend using a punch down tool though, it can be difficult to install these network plugs without one.

the wording is misleading with this product. 1 pack I assumed was a pack or multiple ports, however for over $5 I was shipped just 1 port. Ridiculous. These arent the top of the line network jacks and over $5 for 1? Come on!
